About
Modelled on the Altes Schloss (Old Castle) in Stuttgart, Urach Residential Palace (Residenzschloss Urach) was built in the late 14th century and soon became the home of Count Ludwig I von Württemberg. After the reunification of Württemberg in 1482, the Palace became a well-frequented residence and hunting lodge for the Dukes of Württemberg.

Late visit before closing
Aug 2017 • Couples
Had a quick tour of museum attached to castle just before it closed. Some interesting artifacts but all signage in German so difficult to understand
Not a lot to see but still worth the visit

Great collection sleigh collection
This beautiful late medieval palace is worth visiting in its own right. It features a large vividly painted room with period furnishings on the top floor. However, what makes this place so very much worth visiting is the collection of Baroque sleighs. The sleighs are beautifully decorated with highly evocative sculptures. The surrounding town is also very much worth visiting.

Attractive schloss in an attractive town
Nov 2012 • Couples
A small, pretty town, Bad Urach features many timber-framed houses. The Residenzschloss only adds to its charm.
