Restful location.
If walking the hotel is about 15 minute, 1km from ferry port - take the footpath immediately on the right as you exit the terminal, along rue des Dunes, rue du 6 Juin, place Alfred Thomas, then the hotel is opposite a small roundabout. It has a small car park at front.
It backs onto the sandy beach; this part is quieter then the main beach & has a wooden board-walk along it. The main attractions such as buggy sand sailing, horses, go carts, eateries etc are several hundred yards away. The majority of customers were older but there were some families with children. I went with my 15 year old son & we really enjoyed the pool & spa. The indoor pool is only 1,4m deep so it is not for serious swimming, more for a relax swim, it is salt water, warmer than a normal pool. Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna & pool are open from 9am -8pm free for residents & you can book other treatments as extras. Steam room excellent, everything worked properly & was clean.
We didn't have the breakfast as dear at 16 euros & time consuming - the local bakeries are good for breakfast. We did have our first night dinner at the hotel restaurant - dishes interesting & tasty, service good, price seemed dear but probably on a par with higher end restaurants - average cost for one person for dinner about 30 euros. Nearby, off Place Alfred Thomas, there is Avenue de la Mer off which you have to walk down to appreciate the little eateries & several food specialist shops - there is a delicateson type shop called Comptoir des Normandies. Be Aware of lunchtimes - shops shut from 12.30 - 2pm for lunch. We used buses - you can buy tickets at ferry terminal & the nearest bus stop from the hotel for number 61 bus to Caen or Lion sur Mer was at Riva Centre.

We were looking for a place directly at the beach and found the Thalazur. The stuff was very helpfull with a mistake I made during the reservation. We did not use the SPA, because it was fully booked, but the Hotel and the beach is worth to stay in any case.

Me and my boyfriend came here today for a spa day after being recommended by another hotel in Caen. The English speaking receptionist was so helpful and welcoming and we have had the best experience in the whole of France! We plan to return and stay in the hotel next time for a few days and definitely use more of the spa. The bar staff are great too and you can get a glass of champagne for €4.50 which is always great

This place was great! Top notch service right on the beach! We didn't even realize it is directly on Sword Beach...a lot of history! A walk to the beautiful little downtown for dinner.....

This is the first time that I've had a real thalasso, I found the the personnel were pleasant and polite,
The Haman could be a little hotter , the Sauna was hot , both are a little on the smallish size. It was a Sunday and quite a few people using the facility so sadly not enough chaises longues for everyone,
I had four different 'soins' all were just great. Suffering from a couple of tendonitis , both shoulders and knee, (too much sport, not enough rest) I can confirm that they do wonders, my shoulders almost feel new again. Between the 'soins', I used the pool, hammam and sauna.....perfect
Shame that the thalasso doesn't overlook the sea as this would have made the swimming pool more fun
Couple the thalasso with their restaurant, makes for a great relaxing stay

We booked 3 nights in a hotel with treatments at Thalazur Ouistreham via their website
When we arrived we had the unpleasant surprise to see that dogs are not accepted in this hotel.
We requested a refund for the unoccupied room. We were told that beyond that was not possible.
So we slept the 3 nights in another hotel in the city that allowed dogs.
We used our bedroom as a dressing room.
The next day when we went to treatment we noticed that the carpet on the floor was soaked, thus wetting the belongings left on the floor.
We informed reception who promised us an intervention in the morning without apologizing for the inconvenience.
When we returned from treatment at the end of the morning nothing had been done
At the end of the day the only intervention made was to place bath towels on the floor to soak up the water.
Back to reception where we finally got a room change
We were moved from room 37 to room 29 which is at the very end of the hall with limited internet
We were of course offered no help with the transfer of our luggage, no apology or attention which is not worthy of a 4 star hotel.
All these inconveniences did not allow us to peacefully enjoy the thalassotherapy

Not up to 4 star standards
- not notified to reserve for dinner: I had to wait 1h30 to eat
- the waiter huffed when I said I was pregnant and not immune to the drug
- the TV didn't work
- the breakfast was generous but did not conform to the description
- the sea view room was very good!

Apparently PRMs are not welcome
At reception, when we arrived, with the suitcases, the wheelchair, no help was provided.
Cold welcome, for a 4 star, to be reviewed.
For meals, the filet of St Pierre is on the menu, but twice in a row we are told "there are more".
The servers are in a big hurry and solve their problems in front of us!!!!!!!
Too bad for the site which is magnificent.

A regular at thalazur and other thalassotherapy groups in France for 20 years,
the Ouistreham teams are pros, notably the varied aquagym classes focused on cardio and the right actions to get in shape early in the morning. Changes in the room with a giant television which receives channels without pixelation with all the sports channels and Canal Plus
The breakfast remains the best of all the thalassotherapy centers visited. The daily specials are good and the menu is friendly and varied, with high prices of course but good products. Pamper yourself with a few selected treatments.
Good luck to the new management

Aging thalassotherapy center in need of a good refresh, enclosed swimming pool with no outside view, room/bathroom left in its original condition.
Very attentive staff (that's true) and top-notch care!
