We stopped here on our drive from Sibenik to Split. After using the clean restrooms and paying 30 kn each, we watched an excellent 20 minute film in English that provided the background for the yearly celebration of the victory over the Turks in 1715. This new museum explains through exhibits the procession of 100+ people and 27 horses, the following Alka tournament and shows the required dress for all involved. I liked the gun and sword displays from the period of this conflict.

Truly a great museum! Much more than we expected- from the super large screen intro video, through the exhibits, including life-size idels of horses and riders, this is really something to be experienced.
Great for all ages - there are interactive components for children.
Great value too. Also has a range of really nice souvenirs.

New, modern, quite interactive museum presenting Alka and local history related to it superbly. They managed to cover pretty much every aspect and everything you wanted or didn't want to know about it is there, presented very well and pretty professionally. Even kids shouldn't be bored as there are games related to Alka and the Battle of Sinj that they can play. We had a guided tour too, very knowledgeable. All in all a must-see and worth a detour I would say.

an absolute must for horse riders. It' s very modern museum - opened in 2015 - which tells the history of Alka. Alka is a riding game done for roughly 300 years in Sinj.
Non- riders will also have lots to see.
Amazing are the full size horses made of solid wood.
