The Monteverde Orchid Garden is a place where you can enjoy beauty that is found in the marvelous world of orchids. Our garden has a large collection of orchids; we have more than 425 different species. You can find species that are endemic to Monteverde, and a collection of miniature orchids, including the smallest one in the world. We offer guided walks both in English and Spanish. We are in a great location in down town Santa Elena.

The garden, while small, is full of amazing plants! From the tiniest orchid in the world to some of the smelliest, this attraction did not disappoint. We went to the garden without reservations and were lucky to get a private tour, since no one else showed up! The tour guide (I forget his name!!) was very friendly and spoke great... More

We stopped here on a whim. For its price point, you really get a lot of knowledge from the tour guide. Did not know a lot about orchids, but I do now. Almost worth doing before forest tours so you know what to look for.

We were super skeptical about this tour but you know what, the tour guide was really good. He spoke in English and in Spanish to accommodate everyone on the tour I learned a lot about orchids. Good little tour.

One of the highlights of my trip. If you like orchids don't miss this amazing garden with a lot of different kinds of Costa Rican orchids. Very well taken care off, the owner will walk you around the garden while explaining everything you want to know about the orchids. He is an orchid lover and he is the best guide!... More

Everything in Costa Rica is expensive. The entrance is $10. I think it should be half given how small it is. The guide is polite and informative. However I didnt feel I saw enough to justify it being something 9ne must see here in Santa Elena.

If you like orchids, this is the place to go. Seeing orchids in their natural habitat to me is so much more informational than seeing them in a show or botanical garden. There are over 4,000 orchid species in Costa Rica. This garden has about 500 of them on display with usually at least 100-150 in bloom. No hybrids here.... More

This is a great easy short tour. My daughter and I did this in the afternoon and it did start pouring while we were there-it is not a covered building so you get wet, but we loved it. They were very informative on orchids and gave us magnifying glasses to see all of the varieties. You can make this tour... More

The orchid garden was gorgeous - I saw so many plants, and learned more than I can remember - the tour guide really knew what he was talking about. Bring your camera, the flowers are stunning

We stayed 4 days there and everything was perfect. Had trouble finding the place originally but Sarah was kind enough to come get us and lead us there. My grandchildren and their parents came for 2 days and they were overwhelmed. Sarah and Barry gave us tours and involved the children in berry picking, trampoline jumping and many interesting conversations.... More
