We did this tour after a very, very heavy burst of rain which had lasted most of the afternoon. We were each equipped with a powerful torch to guide our way, together with Adam who was a very reassuring young man. This was a new...More

So there are many different night tours in the area. I had everything book from back home so when all the locals I talked to said this wasn't a good one I was a bit bummed out that I was going. We saw coati, porcupine,...More

First, the guide arrived late. While the very beginning of the tour could potentially have had just enough daylight to allow pictures if we saw anything, it was completely dark by the time our guide arrived up. Next, there was a single guide for a...More

We called ahead to change our pick-up location, but somehow they forgot and went to the old pick-up location. We called again, and they sent someone in an unmarked, beat-up van. The driver didn't speak any English, which would have been fine except that we...More

The weather was very nice. Not cold at all. The guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. But you are at the mercy of the animals. We lucked out to see a sloth and a few active coati but other than that wee were just walking...More

As we were in the Monteverde area for one day only, we wanted to benefit from every minute spent there. So we really needed to do this night tour as late as possible. The receptionist at our hotel (Esteban from Casa Mariposa) was so nice...More

We arrive at the destination around 5.30pm. There is a great view over the valley below and free popcorn, a winner for all. The tour is a bit confusing: sign our names, asked if we'd already paid, then wait for the tour to commence. A...More
