We had a wonderful private bird watching tour with Mauricio. We did a lot of research beforehand on different tour companies and we found this one to be one of the most affordable, especially for a private tour. We had an hour with our guide before the tour started where we looked for birds outside of the reserve. Once we entered the reserve we saw hummingbirds and toucanettes almost immediately, and then 20 minutes later we saw both a female and male quetzal. Our guide knew the best places where to look for the birds we wanted to see, and often even other guides were using his knoledge to find the same birds for their clients. We also saw keel-billed toucans, and many other different species of birds. Mauricio spoke excellent english, and was very knowledgable. He brought a scope with him and was able to set it up so quickly. I don't think we would have seen much at all without having a guide. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone who has any interest in seeing Costa Rica's amazing birds.

We would highly recommend Three Brothers Tours!

Both our tours were with Alexander. He is very friendly, patient, and helpful. For sure that he will make beautiful photos for you and you will come back with a lot of knowledge about the animals and plants you saw.

The prices on the website did not fully correspond with the actual prices but that was definitely alright; the night tour was a bit cheaper than on the website and there was some confusion about whether the curicancha tour includes park fees, it didn't so we payed the park fee plus 25 dollars for the tour, which was definitely worth it!!!

You can book directly with them. We sent an email on the day we wanted to do the night tour and they responded within a few hours. By booking directly with them you make sure the money goes to them instead of your hotel (the guide told us that almost all the money goes to the hotel, sometimes the guides get only 5 dollar per person) and they deserve so much more. They work really hard!

Elbert was our guide he has university training as a naturalist and is a very kind and hard working guide. Bird tour in am- starting at 6 going until about 10:30 starting in Santa Elena near Stella cafe for highland birds then going to Monteverde because we wanted to see the resplendent quetzal. We were successful- saw male female AND baby who left the nest only a few days ago (nesting season March- June) it was pricier than other tours but is catered to what you want to see, private to your group, and an incredible experience. For two people price was $120 USD. If we make it back here in the future would love to do this again with three brothers.

We did a private bird watching tour with Elberth two weeks ago and I don't know where to start.. It was amazing!! We saw many birds, like the Quetzal, Keel-Billed Toucans, Motmots, Emerald Toucanet, Golden Olive Woodpecker and so on.. Elberth is a very nice, enthousiastic and professional guy, who has a lot of knowledge about the birds and plants. He also helped us with photos through his telescope. When he saw something, he set up his telescope super quick to make sure all four of us could see it.

I said to him, that I would really like to see the Three-Wattled Bellbird. Although the bird was not spotted by a lot of people in that area yet, he said he would try. After Curi Cancha, we drove to a spot where the bird was seen sleeping. He tried to follow the sound for half an hour and eventually, he found it between leaves! We took many pictures and it was beatiful!

Elberth, thank you so much for this wonderful tour and for doing much effort for us. It was a great experience and we really recommend it!

We booked 3 activities with the 3 brothers (tour of Monteverde cloud forest, night tour and curi-cancha day tour) in August 2021. It was amazing, we had the chance to meet 2 of the three brothers. They speak a very good English, they know their topic and they will try to please you with your interest (during the night tour, the guide went in the river to find a red eye frog for us). Do not hesitate to take a tour (or more) with them!

Mauricio was a terrific guide for our family of four (two tweens) on the Monteverde night walk. He was great at finding and pointing out the wildlife (I had no idea birds slept while perched in trees!), was incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife (he answered every question in great detail), and was a very engaging and thoughtful guide. We saw several birds, a snake (sleeping in a tree), leaf cutter ants, spiders, a click beetle with eerie glowing eyes, and even an armadillo!

It was worth every penny to do this private tour. Other guides had much larger groups. With just our family, it was easier to both move around and to take turns to view the wildlife through the special telescope. We'd definitely book with Three Brothers again!

Had a great tour with Alberto last week. Our group of 8 included people of all ages and interests and he kept us all interested and made it fun. No question went unanswered, he has a deep level of knowledge on all aspects of the cloud forest and is passionate about the environment he lives on. What I liked most was his commitment to ensure each of us had a great experience which meant he overran the tour time as very close to the end another group had spotted a pair of the indigenous and hard to spot resplendent Quetzal or snake bird. Through his commitment and enthusiasm we were all able to see both the make and female. Highly recommend this company for your visit to the cloud forest. Alberto thank you also for the restaurant recommendation, our best meal of the week!

I was very lucky to come across the three brothers tour group while vacationing near Monteverde. We went on a night tour with Alexander and we were amazed with his hospitality and knowledge. A guide is a must in order to find any of the animals and was shocked that we were able to see so many. Alexander expertly guided us to snakes, tarantulas, toucans, hummingbirds, and massive leaf cutter anthills. With it being my first time in Costa Rica I told Alex how much we wanted to find sloths. He went above and beyond taking us through local roads, deep into the jungle and beyond in search of one. Right as we were about to head back he found one! Thank you again to the three brothers for making our first time in Costa Rica memorable and fun. 100% recommend for first time visitors!

We did a bird watching tour with Elberth at Monteverde. We woke up extra early and caught sight of dozens of birds before breakfast at Stella's (which was delicious). Then we spent the rest of the day in Monteverde.

Elberth knew spots for all sorts of nests, recognized every bird call we heard, and was otherwise very helpful. We could not recommend this tour more!

If you're in Monteverde/Santa Elena area - I highly recommend taking tours with Three Brothers Tours. We did 2 tours - Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve with Ehlbert and the Night Tour with Mauricio. Both are amazing guides. They are local men and know the animals. It amazes me what that can hear and see.
We used their transportation both times and both times they were very prompt. We were the only 2 on the tours. Their rates were very reasonable.
If we return, we wouldn't hesitate to call again.
