Only 20 minutes walk from Unawatuna Main Street and the shops and restaurant.. And also on the way to the Peace Pagoda for an amazing sunset! We did a trip around Sri Lanka for our honeymoon and wanted to cover the south coast towards the end of our travels... being monsoon season, it was difficult to find anywhere to snorkel... More

Great beach for children, small beach bar but amazing what cocktails and food comes out of it. Has some shaded area plus wooden loungers and a toilet. Take a tuk tuk ride and walk down the last bit to the beach. There's 2 parts to the beach and the other is smaller and more local with no facilities.

A nice small beach were locals and tourists are spending good time, having fun in the waves or sleeping on the wood deck chairs, or enjoying a coconut or,a cocktail at the bar. This is a simple and friendly place that you will find after a little, walk in the jungle.

We got there early with a three year old. Up until 10AM everything was fine and then they said we needed to pay 1000 Rupees for each sun bed. Whatever, we packed up and left. There was a small beach restaurant here but did not see any toilets or showers. Totally, not worth the hassle but we were happy to... More

Good please to relax and enjoy..Jungle Beach used to be quite isolated. You'd need to go up the Peace Pagoda, well off the main strip, and then hike in a circle round a peninsula before you arrived. Now you still need to get to the Peace Pagoda but they've cut some stairs straight down the hill and once you get... More

There are 2 ways to get to Jungle beach from Unawatuna centre, you can take a tuk tuk via the main road or you can do a 30 minute walk. We preferred the walk as it was nice and quiet but also it gets you ready up for a dip to cool off once you arrive. The beach is off... More

Definitely a hidden beach and far nicer than the main beach in unawatuna, but because of its size and amazing views it can get fairly busy at times. Forget about any chance of enjoying a remote, quiet, getaway spot as at certain times of the day this beach can be packed full of people. During these times it can also... More

We went with the intention to spend an hour to an hour and a half there, ended up spending about 30 mins.. there were many locals which is ofcoarse ok as it's there land after all, but it was a huge group of ppl so we didn't feel like swimming. It's relatively small .. but if it's not busy, then... More
