We had a great time learning how to cook the traditional rice and curry dishes of Sri Lanka. From start to finish we loved it all. Highlights were picking the veggies from the local market, learning how to use the spices, and making coconut milk and sambal. I would recommend this class to anyone looking to learn more about the food culture in this amazing country!…

Through this cooking class we learnt how to make fresh coconut milk and 6 different curries as well as pappadam and coconut-sambol! We went to the market and got the opportunity to choose any veggies and so we could try veggies which we didn’t know before! The cooking class was a lot of fun and the food turned out super delicious! We loved it and would definitely come again. The kitchen was very clean and beautiful, we loved the equipment and the whole staff (also from the restaurant) were so kind! It is also possible to buy the special hopper-pan and coconut-screw-thing (for the milk and sambol)! Best rice and curry! Thank you :)…

We would definitely come again! Best rice and curry! Thank you:)…

We were staying in Midigama and had been researching cooking classes for days when we stumbled across Nautilus. We decided to spend the day in Galle and attend the afternoon session. We had been looking forward to a cooking class and this did not disappoint! Getting to go to the markets to pick out fresh produce was a highlight, but learning how to prepare the dishes (and then eat them) was incredible! We also learnt how to do basics such as making coconut milk and sambol (YUM!). The outside upstairs kitchen was beautiful, with stunning views of the ocean and a refreshing afternoon breeze. The overall vibe is very relaxed and the time flew by. Yamuna is also very lovely, and is a fantastic teacher. She would demonstrate to us how to do something and then let us have a try. I couldn’t recommend this class enough. I will be back next year!…
