It is basically a mountain stream, making its way downhill. The authorities have turned it into a tourist attraction, by constructing stone, metal and concrete trails to the peak. It takes it's name from the action film, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. We went on a weekday, and we were maybe just a handful of visitors on the trail. I could not understand why, maybe because of the cold and wet weather. The shops all along the route were closed. So was the bobsled downhill. Only the glass bridge was open, but there were no people on it. The climb up is quite tough, but it is only for a bit more than an hour. You can pause on the way up, and enjoy the small and medium sized waterfalls. Unfortunately, as is quite common in China, folks do not care about discarding their cigarette butts or their junk, and you find litter quite common. We went from urban Anji by taxi. But could not find transportation on our return back, as there were no taxis or buses back late afternoon. So do make sure of your travel plans back. We could manage a "hitched ride" back to town with a local trader, for a fee (of course). Also, there is a discount if you are above 60 years, so do carry your passport if you are eligible.

Visited this waterfall during Oct time. Is a good place for gateway from the city. it took us about 3 hours from Shanghai to arrive here. We enjoy walking up to the mountain and with enjoy cooling weather and fresh air. You can take a rest and enjoyed nice Chinese tea half way to the top.
