The game drive in the Northern bank of River Nile was very fascinating as we viewed a lot of big game such as Giraffes, African Elephants, Buffalos, Jackson's Hartebeest, Lions and Uganda Kob. A close view of the Nile delta yielded viewing Hippos and nile crocodiles and water birds.

Uganda’s nature is both stunning and scenic, gave us an opportunity, to witness the natural beauty in the endless plains in specific magnificent natural arenas of the world. We definitely enjoyed the vast mosaic of rolling savanna grasslands, visit to the most powerful waterfalls combined with Africa’s wilderness was exceptional, endless savanna, coming this close to nature was a vivid reminder as to why we have always been inspired by the untouched wild.

Amazing to see the wildlife just come down to the water and let us observe them. The birds are amazing - have your camera ready! Beautiful scenery and lovely place for sundowners while visiting the Pearl of Africa.

The best way to see the falls is by the guided walk. The 4 hours spent on a boat is a waste of tiome and you don't get very close to the falls.- Do the walk - not the boat.

Did this tour in Feb 2022.
The levels of the Victoria Nile River have risen and this has changed the eco system of this part of the river. The Swamp plants have been swept away, so the Shoebill is no longer seen in this area. The tour company do not make you aware of this. We did see lots of Hippos and other birds. But if you are wanting to see a Shoebill then this is not the tour for you.

We took a cruise on the Nile to see the wildlife from the water as part of our Uganda tour package. This was quite different from seeing the animals and birds from the land. We took a boat ride to the falls and then walked up to meet our driver but the climb was quite steep and we didn't really feel it added anything to the experience. If I had the option to do it again, I would take the boat back to the starting point and enjoy more of the wildlife instead.

You really need to be a birder to enjoy this cruise; and if you don't see a shoebill (that is a prehistoric bird) then you might come away disappointed. Check with the experts to make sure that the season and weather conditions are optimal for shoebill sighting. If it isn't, you might consider going up-river in a boat with a sharp-eyed guide.

It is a wonderful opportunity to observe this strange animal in its natural environment. Even more birds, which are rare elsewhere can be spotted. In particular we saw the giant kingfisher and various birds of prey.

A comfortable, informative cruise with Wild Frontiers up the Nile to Murchison Falls. The boat was comfortable, the captain was cautious and stopped for many animals. Cold drinks for sale (at a ridiculous price for Uganda, only negative) kept us cool and refreshed. A must do if you visit Murchison Falls NP.

My daughter and I want to go to the Nile Delta at the beginning of August to see the shoebill and other birds. Which company can be recommended for the trip? Is it better to book in advance (from Germany via Internet ) or is it possible to book for the next day, just when we arrive at Pakuba Game lodge?

We used Ape Treks and had a great experience. they are online and on Facebook. I definitely recommend booking ahead. The area is extremely remote. your guides will need time to arrange to meet you there.
