There's an old lady stopped people from entering the garden. However on the bus, the tour leader said it's OK to get in and take photos. If things have changed, it's better to let people know. The old lady also spoke rudely that people shouldn't take too much trial fruit, "just one one, OK?" but she didn't realise, the pea-sized fruit or some kind of candies was too small to taste. And the woman who spoke just took two pieces of kiwi. I saw many people were shopping generously, didn't understand why she was so unhappy.

We were told by our guide and the bus driver for our Ohio State University Alum. Assoc. excursion in New Zealand that
Mrs. Jones Fruit Orchard & Gardens was not to be missed. We were so happy that we stopped there for a respite from the road trip to purchase a creative, delicious ice cream, then a wonderful walk through the gardens, and time to purchase delicious dark chocolate covered ginger candy, mixed nuts, and some beautiful fresh fruit.

This was a stopover which was absolutely incredible with brilliant large bright pink orchids display. A wonderful place to visit with a fantastic variety of fresh and dry fruits, nuts, honey products, snacks and real fruit ice cream. There was gorgeous garden with statue for perfect photos.

Visited on a tour bus and the fruit display is fantastic and the range impressive. The real fruit ice cream is a must and worth every dollar. I had vanilla with fresh mango and the taste was lovely but you do get a bit of the previous persons taste as well. It’s a good place for toilet stop and break.

This place is very crowded. The garden out the back is well looked after and we enjoyed a leisurely stroll around. The shop is really just a fruit store that sells really expensive produce and souvenier items as well. It is well presented and clean. On leaving the shop, we ordered and paid for two white English Breakfast teas to take with us. At the checkout, after paying, we were told where the machine was to go and make our own tea, after looking around and not finding any milk, I went back to same checkout lady to be told "no, we don't have milk". I had just ordered and paid for white tea?? Got a refund for our teas, no problem. Definitely stop if you like gardens.

If you like real fruit ice cream, this is a must if passing through Cromwell. I googled it while we were driving and this place popped up. We did a u-turn and was so worthwhile going back. The real fruit ice cream was so yummy, I need to go back. The chocolate hokey pokey was delicious.

Beautifully presented fruit and veg shop, lots of other bits and pieces too, ice cream looked delicious- will definitely try some if we pass again. Only one coach trip was there when we were. Not sure how busy it gets high season.

Serving staff wonderful, some old bag barking out orders at customers wrecks it (obviously worked in a prison in her previous life).

We stopped here with our tour bus to buy fruit, I bought peaches, satsumas and plums. I also had a home made ice cream with fresh berries which was very nice.

Have stopped here twice now on my travels through New Zealand, and had to hunt it out the second time round as we drove another route from Wanaka to Queenstown. Great selection of fruit, and the most amazing ice cream... hokey pokey with mixed berries!!! :)
