A great small museum
Aug 2021
Visited soon after the museum’s refurbishment in 2021. The new displays are colourful, interesting and include lots of Scottish social history that will be of interest whether you’re a Macpherson or not.
Very friendly attendant, nice wee shop and a good way to spend time in Newtonmore.

My Heritage
Sep 2019
Visited with my two sons from Australia. As a McPherson, I had many of my ancestors born in this region. We spent several hours at the museum. I was lucky to have a McPherson from Western Australian who volunteers at the Museum. Her enthusiasm is notable.

Interesting Museum
Aug 2019
We enjoyed this little museum, and getting a flavour of Scottish life. Interesting too to see how the clan has dispersed across the globe. The information is displayed in an interesting and easy to digest manner. We also liked the harp left out for visitors to have a go at playing on!

Thank you for taking the time to share your opinion and your kind words. It is always nice to know that people are enjoying the museum. The harp is a beautiful interactive piece of the Highland culture and fits so well into it's surroundings.

Fascinating

This museum is all about the clan, and crammed with information and memorabilia, perhaps a little overwhelming if you aren't a MacPherson!. The silver statue is amazing. There are lots of weapons, and an interesting history of tartans.

Visited and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who showed us around. Very interesting and plenty to see. Free of charge to enter but left a donation. Video, exhibits and summary sheets for all the information were very useful and enjoyable to see/read

Have been in the past but not this time in Newtonmore.

My husbands great, great grandfather was born in Newtonmore and was a MacPherson. We have always tried to visit each time we are in the area but there was just not enough time this visit. We did go past twice in the coach but there just was not sufficient people interested in our party to stop.

Thank you for taking the time to write. It is a shame that there was not enough interest for the coach to stop, as we do welcome many coaches with no connection to the Clan. Hopefully we can welcome you again next time you visit the area.
