We discovered this as we walked from Botany Bay through the white cliff arch. This can only be done safely at low tide. It was late afternoon, peaceful and calm, secluded when we were there. Beach was almost deserted, just a couple of dog walkers....More
We walked along from Viking Bay through a number of other bays to visit Botany Bay. This is very easy to do at low tide, but you do need to check tide times because otherwise certain bays can get cut off. You also need some...More
We opted to pop down for a trip to the coast on a sunny bank holiday weekend. Kingsgate Bay seemed like a nice option. As it was a bank holiday the traffic was bad though, and parking was a nightmare. Watch where you stop as...More
This beach is amazing as it is very well looked after (no litter) and pets are allowed on the beach all year round, fun for all the family! Nice for walks/runs in the morning. Great sunrise/sunset view.
Hard to find a good sandy beach this time of year to walk your dog. Kingsgate is a lovely beach to do so. Very clean & hardly anyone on it. Just wished it was a bit longer but you can’t have it all!
A gorgeous little sandy beach. Dog friendly, low tides, and peaceful to swim in!
The scenery is beautiful, secluded, so you are a bit sheltered from the wind.
It’s possible it walk around the cove at low tide.
Beautiful beach, dog friendly all year round.

Yes you can. There is a bye law that states they need to be under supervision, presumably to ensure that you see and remove any poo etc, but they can play to their hearts content and go for a swim:)
Hope that helps

We walked down the steps to Botany Bay and through the stack to Kingsgate Bay. We went during low tide and walked leisurely around, walked across Kingsgate Bay climbed the step (more than Botany Bay and steeper) walked along cliff top back to Botany Bay. There is a path to the cliff top walk from the side of the pub car park at top of Kingsgate bay to Botany Bay.A good place to bird watch the birds on top of the stacks. You will need to check tide times to do this walk. Parking also seemed better at Botany Bay unless you park in the pub car park. A lovely evening walk. Not many people on the beach, a few dog walkers in early July.
