Breezy walk …
Nov 2021 • Couples
We walked from Margate, along the cliff top to Botany Bay on a bright, breezy November Sunday. The tide was in when we tried to walk back along the beach and the high water level prevent us from getting past incoming tide.

A lovey beach encased by high chalk cliffs, clean, with golden sands.

Lovely beach and the only facility is toilets and nearby parking which suits us absolutely. Soft sand and sheltered areas

Lovely setting, nice area, we did visit on October day, saw all the little coves, before tide came in, was interesting to see all the names and images in the chalk cliffs.

Lovely spot on walk from Margate to Broadstairs.
Sep 2021
We walked from Margate to Broadstairs and got the train back - this was one of our stops on the way. Really loved the pillars of white stone that had come away - very photogenic. Nice spot, actually felt like we might have been abroad.

From check in to check out this was a lovely four night stay. ALL the staff were fantastic, friendly and welcoming, the room was as advertised and as we are in this "pandemic", the supply of toiletries was plentiful. The Hotel is right on the cliffs in a quiet setting with a gorgeous view and well stocked bar. Walks to Margate or Broadstairs are possible at low tide along the beach. Food is very good with a wide menu and especially the breakfast which is excellent, not just quality but choice. Well done to all at the Botany Bay, we will definitely be back, as will some of our friends and family on this recomendation.

Nice view, very busy

Nice place, went later during the day and was less busy - saw the sunset and was a nice day in general. During midday can get busy on weekends!

Lovely beach, but busy.

Lovely sandy beach. Parking is on the street, and lots of houses nearby have put private No Parking cones outside their houses, which aren't actually legal on a public road. If everyone parks sensibly, not on grass or blocking drives ect, then the signs/cones/parking obstructions aren't necessary. They make you feel a little unwelcome. Make sure you have all you need before you arrive at this beach, and cash if you want to use the little kiosk at the bottom of the steps. We turned up expecting to be able to use a card, only to be told it was cash only. Had a 40min walk to and from the nearest cash point, which was at a co-op. Cash only and no receipts given....hhhmmmmm!

Lovely coastline walk and sandy beach .
Quite extraordinary cliffs with couple of separated rocks.
Takeaway onside.
Free parking near to path, but might be tricky to find the room in peak time.
Fantastic seaside view from paved path , really nice walk

A beautiful and peaceful day well spent
Jul 2021
I visited on 20th July '21, just before the start of the start of the School summer holidays for most Schools. I put in the post code Others had recommended. However it was quite a trek to get to the beach! If you can get a space on Marine Drive. I didn't see any restrictions or meters preventing parking. There is also a car park in Botany Road. Both are about 5 mins walk to the beach. The toilets were ok'ish. There was a portable loo before you get to the beach and toilet buildings about halfway down the steps to the beach. There was a mobile shop on the beach and that was all I saw in the vicinity. Not sure what food and drink they sold. I only noticed bucket and spades etc in front of it for sale.

Sandy bliss
Jul 2021
Botany Bay is a naturist beach that is peaceful and beautiful. It’s sandy rather than pebbled and easily accessible via a well worn path leading from the cliff top down to the beach or you could walk down the cement path at the far end of the beach by the water station. While the main beach to the right tends to be much busier as it’s closer to the car park and amenities, the naturist beach is a bit of a walk and further to the left just under the water station. It’s much quieter and is backed by dunes that make for perfect and quiet tanning spots affording privacy. On clear days you can see the wind farms out to sea and the cargo ships queuing to get into port. My husband and I found this beach to be very gay friendly and beautiful for sundowners.
