Plaza de Fefinans is the old centre of Cambados. It is unspoilt and picturesque. There are a few coffee bars and restaurants around the area. Well worth a visit.

On our tour we stopped in Cambados for lunch, walk around. What a cute town. The plaza has some great architecture and history. There are many shops selling clothes/purses/wine/cheese and various restaurants and bars. You could spend about half a day in this town.

On the “Place” in Cambados which is close to Pontevedra in Galicia, you have the “Palace of Fefiñanes” which is giving name to the most outstanding square of this town. On which you also can see the Church of San Benito. The Palace itself has been built into the 16th century and this by Don Juan Sarmiento Valladares, who was the advisor to King Felipe II and inquisitor general. The Palace got new additions into the 17th century, and later one it became the property of the Marquises of Figueroa, in the hands of whose descendants it is still maintained. Nice location, worth the stop-over to see the main street and the church of San Benito.

Almost feeling too big for the little town the open-to-hot-sun square is flanked by a manor house & a fine church, but it all looks rather bleak - an expanse of plain grey stone. Open the day I was there the church is obviously used & loved, and worth going into for its atmosphere. The view out of the plaza into the main street leading off towards the sea gives a livelier impression, with little shops and cafes etc.

There are only three things to see in the square - the church, the manor house, and a small train that takes visitors around. The main street is not long, so I can’t imagine why you would need to take the train. There are several small shops and places to eat. We were lucky enough to see a band marching down the street, which was charming.

Great large Plaza with a fine old church . There are numerous restaurants and tapas bars on the way to the plaza. It is in the old part of town so naturally the architecture will stun you and the little tapa bars will enchant you.

We stumbled upon this wonderful plaza with its selection of cafes/ bars and interesting side streets it is a wonderful place to sit a while and enjoy a beer or glass of wine and just watch the world go by, it’s got some interesting bodegas around the square with some very interesting liqueurs, a must visit if in Cambados highly recommended.
