Plenty of parking, and easy access. Be prepared for a long walk! We spent over 3 hours here (couple of refreshment breaks). Full of history.

This fort was an outdated folly even when it was being built. But what a gigantic outstanding creation of stone masonry, quite astonishing. Well presented commentary on headphones. It’s worth viewing from a harbour boat trip to appreciate the vast size.
