The areas around the house with sculptures are nicely done, quite large and a nice strole.
The wine shop is very small considering the space they have. Must be awful in peak season.
Bought the cheapest red wine at nearly 10euro. Really not worth it . Left a bit underwhelmed by the experience.

Rented villa with pool, lovely and peaceful, huge pool, all very clean, beds comfy, excellent shower.
Tv not up to much, hardly any English channels, but not much time to watch so not a problem.
Vineyard/villa quite isolated so had to drive to go anywhere. Staff very friendly, couldn’t be more helpful. Small problem with double booking, so had to move villas for last two days, but was dealt with amicably.
Grounds amazing, worth a visit if not staying

We took our two year old twins for a treat (treat for us) to go wine tasting. They loved running round the gardens, exploring. We loved the wines. Great service, lovely people, amazing views and great wine. Well worth a visit.

We were doing a comprehensive tour of Algarve wineries and I'm afraid were underwhelmed by the wines here, in comparison with most others we visited. "The avant-garde" statuary and installations were bizarre and self-indulgent. Is this a winery or an art gallery ? The wines were competent but unremarkable, we had the entry level and middle level tasting flights plus a couple of freebie add-ons and, to be fair, despite competing with the onslaught of 2 tour buses-full we were well looked after. One rosé I wanted to try was opened and pronounced corked which I disagreed with, but was withheld and we had to have a cheaper example. But the other - off the list but just bottled - was a Syrah / Viognier (as in Cote Rotie) which was OK, but not cheap. A contextual comment is that in our opinion, Cliff Richard's place Quinta de Miradoro has some much better wines and a more interesting tour.

Situated just outside Estombar off the R125, Quintas Dos Vales has a very good value wine tour. They charged approx 7 euros for a tasting tour but the guy 'Anibal' was so friendly he insisted on letting us try his fig spirit and quince spirits as well. It was a really enjoyable tour and no question was too trivial or too complicated for him to answer.
Outside, they also have a scultpure park with large animals and human figures made from the stones found in the vineyard or from fibreglass. There is also an animal park which you can see for an extra 7 euros but we didn't have time for this. For people like us who're just dipping their toes in the whole wine-tasting culture, this tour was great value and a fun afternoon and not too poncy or intimidating either. Their URL is www.quintadosvales.eu if you'd like to go along.

We (American group of 16) just finished a wine tour and tasting, led by Carlos. He was informative, interesting, and friendly. We highly recommend him and the winery to all.

Can you just visit the gardens, shop and the art, without doing a tour? I want to bring kids and they wouldn't be able to go on a tour.

For a visit of the Vineyards, a Solo Wine Tasting and a walk through the art exhibition you do not need a reservation. Quinta dos Vales and the shop are are open every day except Sunday and on public holidays.
For the guided tour, commented tastings and workshops, please make a reservation. We are offering the experiences to our guests in different languages and want to make sure that the right person is available when you arrive. Therefore a reservation for the tours at least 2 hours in advance is necessary.
