I jumped at Skydive algarve for the first time this year, I can comfortably say that it is the best Drop Zone that I’ve been to in the whole world! Upon arriving we had a quick coffee at the sky Caffe before going in to the airfield. The staff were super friendly, and the process to get us up in the air was very easy, quick and efficient; all the while not compromising on any safety. I felt safe and I felt like I was truly in the hands of professionals. After speaking to some of the instructors I realised that these guys are very experienced! The aeroplane was super fast to get to 15k feet and comfortable inside. The views on the plane ride were simply breathtaking. Being able to see golden sand beaches, mountain ranges, the south cost and the western most point of Europe from that angle was an experience in itself! And now for the jump, simply no words... Highly recommend!

Great drop zone for fun jumpers and tandems too. The atmosphere was great and the staff were so welcoming and willing to help when needed (They speak multiple languages). You get an amazing view of the algarve coastline from the sky. I would definitely jump here again. My favorite DZ I’ve been to in Europe.

I wear glasses and was given goggles to wear over them during the jump but was not told to wear them while entering the plane. The strength of the wind caused by the propeller blew my glasses off my face while going in, they went rolling on the ground for several meters and got badly scratched. This could have been prevented if they'd simply told me to wear the goggles while entering the plane (I noticed no one else was wearing them either, but no one else wore glasses). They didn't take any responsibility and said it had never happened before, which I find very hard to believe given the strength of that wind. I guess I have a special face or glasses... In the end a very painful £200 unexpected expense and having to wear scratched glasses for the remainder of my holidays... The jump itself was ok but to be honest I didn't enjoy it fully because I was so stressed with having to spend £200 on new glasses after returning to the UK. I didn't even pay for the video package because I didn't have that money (not a lot of work going around with covid) and in the end I lost way more.

We are extremely sorry that your glasses were damaged at the point where you were getting on the plane. Our instructors do explain to our clients that if they take their glasses it's at their own risk. We explain that in this case the goggles will need to be used during the Freefall AND the Parachute ride, on top of your own glasses, so as not to loose them during the skydive, however at the point where you are getting on the plane, usually it's not neccessary. Our skydive instructors and fun jumpers, who wear glasses or sunglasses, would enter the plane with their glasses on without the goggles on top of them. The goggles are always only ever put on in the plane (at altitude) before moving to the door to skydive. The fact that your glasses fell off from the wind from the propellers was an extremely unfortunate situation which has never happened before. Although we are deeply apologetic with the fact you have had to pay to fix your glasses and we are sad to hear you didn't enjoy the jump as much since you were worrying about your glasses, it really was just a very unfortunate situation which was no ones fault. We hope that one day you may be able to repeat the experience and have a better story to tell.
