(This experience occurred in August 2018, which was not offered in the drop down list.) If you are a photographer, this is the BEST way to see Dalsnibba and the beautiful scenery on the way to the summit. If you take a bus, (1) it doesn't stop and (2) you don't get to experience the sights and sounds of a beautiful place. The day that we went was cold and rainy, and I'll warn you that there's no heater in the electric vehicle. However, the experience was one that I'll never forget or regret. After a short, but informative, orientation at the station, you take off for the summit. I was warned to not punch the accelerator to the maximum on the ascent, as there is enough charge in the battery to reach the summit at a moderate speed, but not full speed (there's a gauge on the dash to advise power usage and storage). The vehicle partially recharges as you coast on the descent.

This review is from the viewpoint of a solo photographer with a large camera bag in tow.
In short renting the 2 seater eMobility car for 3 hours was a highlight of my Norwigien fjord trip but a whirlwind experience I did not have the chance to really take in because of the 3 hour time restriction.
The car itself is tiny. At just over 6ft 1in (185cm) tall and 200lb (90kg) the front seat suited me just fine. But if I had a passenger there is NO way a camera bag could fit in there as well and allow the rear passenger to have a comfortable ride (you sit in line not side by side) .
The car is very easy to drive and made it to the top with 3 of the 10 bars of power left. You receive some instruction at the rental office before you start and they recommend driving from Geiranger to the Dalsnibba summit in one go to make sure you make it (!). They claim never to have anyone run out of power if they did that but could not be so sure if you stopped at a few viewpoints while on the way up.
One plus point was the car is so small is made it possible to stop at some viewpoints where normal sized cars would be blocking the road. I have some amazing photos/video from several viewpoints back to Geiranger.
I booked on the day because I felt pre-booking at nearly £200 with no weather guarantee (and no refunds) was a risk too far for me.
Some of the views are spectacular and I would have preferred the time to photograph them AND enjoy them. The problem is the 3 hour rental period which makes both impossible. I made it back 20 minutes late (there was a minor crash on the road in front of me so I got blocked) although the agent did not say anything or charge me. I think the 3 hour limit should be raised to 4 hours atleast. I could only make it to Dalsnibba and not to Eagle Road as I had hoped.
Overall if there are 2 of you it is worth the cost as the views are truly amazing but only if the weather is good (and you don't have alot of camera equipment).
One final point: I overheard a member of staff offering a SUV/car for rental for a group with a person with a mobility issue (the eMobility car is not suitable for people with a mobility issue). I did not see this advertised online before I arrived but may be an option.

We were travelling with the Mein Schiff and had booked the tour in advance. 2 hours of fun with the Twizzy - the initial scepticism about the "size" of the Renault quickly disappeared. The tour was a highlight of the trip - away from the guided tours but still very well informed thanks to the audio guide. There was also a mountain inn on the route away from the roads. We can really recommend the tour. The rental station is right at the jetty!

Never got to experience car as my RC cruise could not dock due to high winds in Geiranger. Was refused any type of refund even though I had taken out their insurance and this was no fault of my own. My advice would be do not pre book especially if on a cruise ship as this company will not refund any money. They have had £150 of me plus other monies off other cruise guests for doing absolutely nothing. Even a part refund would of been a good will gesture. This was meant to be the highlight of our trip but left out of pocket due to poor customer service.!!

We had visited Geiranger a few times before this was the first time we had an opportunity to use the E cars. The staff were excellent, and our three-hour tour was just enough time to the very top. The scenery is spectacular, to say the least. I would highly recommend this to anybody visiting on a cruise ship.

Great way to spend a few hours in town without having to walk up the mountains or commuting to a longer bus tour. The cars are fun and allow you to zip around almost anywhere. Also, you can park in many places where buses or even cars can’t stop. Staff was patient, friendly and knowledgeable.

Booking was extremely simple. Found the location very easily. The cars were very simple to drive. We were given great instructions and advised how to save energy to get to the top of Dalsnibba Skywalk observation deck. It was very warm at the bottom of the fjord but the temp dropped from 23C to -10C at the top. Bring extra jacket hats/mitts. Also there are no windows in the cars so it gets chilly while driving. This was the best part of our vacation. Highly recommend it!!!!

This was our second time booking a car rental and we loved every minute. Even though the weather wasn't great we had a wonderful time and my husband says it's the most fun thing he's ever done! Thank you for another great trip!

We took the emob car to the Flydalsjuvet panorama lookout. The car was easy to drive, with space for two people. It was easy to manoeuvre the sharp bends and stop to take pictures. We followed that with the RIB trip of the Fjords. This allowed you to get up close to several stunning waterfalls. Everything was arranged perfectly, it was economical, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the office was a two minute walk from our ship's dock. The car comes equipped with a talking GPS - loved every second!

So much fun! We had a cruise stop in Geiranger May 3rd and wanted to get to some of the lookout points without a full tour so we rented one of these cars for 2 hrs. A perfect choice, so much fun to drive, Eagle road was closed due to still to much snow, otherwise i would suggest renting longer. Still had a blast and would definitely do it again!

Thank you!🙏
It was the road to Dalsnibba that was closed, but that is not important.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review to us and we are very happy that you had a great time in one of our cars.

Hi, wir möchten im Juni gerne eine Tour machen, haben aber unseren 1-jährigen Sohn dabei. Darf er auf dem Schoß mitfahren oder gibt es einen 3-Sitzer? Liebe Grüße Lisa

I’m 6’ 4” and 225 lbs. would there still be room for my wife 5’ 4”? Which has more room? Front or back? Thanks.

Sorry for the late response, she would be SUPER tight in the back. Personally for adults I recommend one vehicle per adult.

Hi,
unfortunately, due to Corona, I had to cancel my bookings and got an automatic confirmation reply. This was three weeks ago and I haven‘t got any notice or refund so far. May I ask you please share some information about the refund process?
Thank you very much in advance!

Id love to do this but Im 195cm/ 6 feet 5 tall and my wife is 178cm tall/5 feet 10. I guess all up we'd weigh 190-200kgs. Could we fit in such a vehicle and make it up the mountain without running out of battery?
Written February 10, 2020
Hi.
That will be no problem. The biggest guy I have seen in a Twizy is 207 cm and 135 kilo.

To avoid a lot of bus traffic when renting on a cruise day, is it better to start as early as possible, or after noon?
Written September 18, 2019
Hi.
Normally earlier is better, but on a cruise day in Geiranger you will meet buses anytime...;)
Welcome!

Written August 17, 2019
Hello.
We do not have any tour that combines Dalsnibba and Storseterfossen, but I guess that we can find a solution when we meet you in Geiranger.
Welcome!
