My boyfriend and I participated in a 2 day kayak trip through the Hjorundfjord. The trip was very well organized. Good explanation about kayak technique, safety and our day/night planning. The fjord were we kayaked through was beautiful and we had a nice lunch (which was provided by Norway Adventures) with an amazing view. We were with a group of 9 participants and had 2 tour guides, experienced and had much knowledge about the nature, surroundings. When we arrived at the camping place, we set up the tents and the tour guide prepared a campfire to cook dinner on, which tasted so good! We slept well in the tent and the day after we kayaked back to the start place. I would highly recommend this kayak trip to anyone, since it was very well organized and just really nice!

Norway Adventures planned a two week self-driving trip focused on hiking, in both the fjord area and Lofoten. The trip was amazing and could not have been better! Every detail had been planned, beginning with car rental at the airport; detailed driving directions via Google maps for the best route to take at every stage; wonderful lodging and meals; vouchers for ferries; air tickets within Norway, everything we could need. We were a family group with two very fit young adults, and two less fit seniors, all of whom wanted to hike. Anne provided a range of hikes and suggested activities for every location--choices for everyone. The attention to our interests and needs coupled with the expertise, knowledge, and attention to every detail by Anne resulted in a vacation that each of us felt was our best ever--and all of us have done a fair amount of international travel. We were so happy with every place we went--we would leave each location reluctantly, as each was fabulous, but at the end of the next day we would be utterly thrilled with what we had seen and done in that day’s adventures. It was a joy to be off the beaten path and out of the throngs of tourists. Every aspect of the trip that was part of our trip with Norway Adventures went completely smoothly. The same cannot be said of flights getting to our starting point. Although none of this came during our time with Norway Adventures, Anne was at our side throughout these stressful events, which resulted in her making adjustments to the trip as planned by Norway Adventures. When an arrival flight was delayed and the connecting flight missed, she sent screenshots of what flights to try to rebook using a different itinerary that was still (possibly) available; called us and worked out plan A, B, C, or D, depending on the upshot with the airlines; monitored flight status until 11pm and connected back with us at 7am. It was as if we had a guardian angel by our side! I cannot praise Norway Adventures highly enough or thank Anne adequately for such an outstanding experience.

Dear Carol and Steve, thank you so much for all your praise. Your trip definitely was a roller coaster with the SAS strike going on. I am so happy that we managed to make it work with the adjustments we did along the way. It was great too to read how you enjoyed yourself along the way, and that getting away from the crowds was the right choice. It was wonderful having you as guests, and we hope to welcome you back again some day. All the best, Anne and the rest of the Norway Adventures Team.

I can't praise Anne and the team at Norway Adventures high enough. This is the second time i have booked a trip with them. In 2019 I was guided by them on hikes through some lesser known but spectacular fjords (better to get off the tourist track). This time they organised an itinerary and booked accommodation etc for my fiance and I on our trip to the Lofoten Islands. They have a great (inside) knowledge of the areas and different activities to do. We had an amazing time hiking in the Lofotens and visiting little towns and places they recommended along the way, including a one day trip to Vaeroy Island which we would never have thought of. Communication with Anne is extremely easy and she is very prompt and reliable. Our trip was planned in great detail and nothing was missed. I would highly recommend a trip with Norway Adventures and can't wait for a third visit.

Dear Damien, it was such a pleasure having you as our guest again. This time you had to do it on your own, without our guides, and it is great to hear that you and Kellie had a great time, even though we missed you. I am happy we pulled it off despite the quite short time span, given also how busy it can be at the Lofoten Islands. We are already looking forward to designing another unforgettable trip for you in Norway. All the best from all of us at Norway Adventures, Anne

My boyfriend and I participated in this tour as a 30th birthday gift for me and it was absolutely wonderful from start to finish! The website provides a lot of good information but Anne in the office was very helpful and responsive in answering our additional questions prior to booking, and once we began the tour our guide Nathan was also incredible - supportive, knowledgeable, and very enjoyable to spend 5 days with. Some of our favorite parts about the trip: - Hjørundfjord is a hidden gem, truly beautiful and astoundingly quiet and tucked away. We stayed in extremely small villages and hardly ran into anyone other than the locals with the exception of a handful of Norwegian tourists. No crowds at all and we had the fjords and trails virtually to ourselves. - Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and hospitable and our guide really went out of his way to ensure we had a good experience. - There is no better way to experience the fjord than by kayak, and alternating between hiking and kayaking was perfect - when your arms are tired from kayaking your legs get a workout with hiking and vice versa! I have no negatives to report but some things for future guests to keep in mind with this particular tour: - This experience is supposed to be a bit of an adventure and it's important to stay somewhat flexible; trust the experts when they tell you the weather in the fjords is highly variable (it truly is!) and of course remember your guide cannot guarantee or control the weather. Our very first day we encountered rain and some high winds while kayaking and we had to turn back and resort to plan B as result (hiring a boat to take us to our next destination instead of kayaking there). But at no point did we ever feel unsafe or that it marred the experience, if anything this added to the adventure. - Bring a sleeping mask unless you are already acclimated to the light. We went in late June and it never truly got dark; when we went to bed at 10 PM it may as well have been 3 PM as far as the light was concerned and the places we stayed didn't have built-in blackout curtains, as the locals don't seem to have any problems! - To make the most of the experience I would recommend either being in good shape or showing up excited for a challenge . Our fitness levels were pretty average by US standards (and low by Norwegian standards) so for us it was definitely a thorough workout but we were looking forward to the challenge and found it very fulfilling - the views are all worth it! Your guide can make some adjustments to the activities to support everyone's needs and we never felt pressured to do more than we could handle, but don't expect a walk in the park either. - It's worth noting the tour is expensive, but having completed it I can understand why; Norway is expensive in general (be prepared to pay $10+ for a beer!) and you are essentially paying the locals to share their homes with you. I was initially skeptical about the price but ultimately felt the experience was worth it, particularly knowing our money was supporting the local economy. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour! Thank you to the people at Norway Adventures and the residents of the Hjørundfjord for giving us the trip of a lifetime!

Dear Alisa, thank you so much for taking the time to write such an elaborate review. Wonderful to read that you have had such a great time. You were also very lucky with the weather. You have some good tips there for future travellers. Love the sleeping mask tip by the way! Thank you too for bringing up the price level. Based on the price level of Norway this trip is in fact not expensive, but the price level in Norway, in general, is very high. Remember that this trip is fully guided for 5 whole days, all meals are included, accommodation, equipment and all the logistics. For us it is also important to support the local economy among our partners. Thank you again for joining us and maybe we can welcome you back someday? All the best from Anne, Nathan and the rest of the Norway Adventures Team

Norway Adventures planned a 16 day self-driving trip for us. Every detail of the trip was extremely well planned, and everything worked. We stayed in 8 wonderful historic hotels with excellent food and service. The tour and hiking guides were knowledgeable, fun and personable. Anne created a great trip in every respect.

Thank you so much Bob, we are so happy that you finally got to do this tour, after having to wait for two years because of Covid. I am happy that you liked the way we twitched the '13 day explore the fjords luxury vacation' to your wishes. You also prove that age is not in the way of going on an adventure in Norway. I am so proud of you. All the best to you and Susan from, Anne, Rogier and the rest of the Norway Adventures Team.
