Cantina Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano, founded in 1972, is today formed by 160 members whose vineyards spread over the Hills surrounding the village of Scansano, in the province of Grosseto, covering a total of about 600 hectares. The vast range is concentrated mostly on the main protagonist of the area, namely Moellino i Scansano, which is available in many different facets. The brand new wine shop with its tasting facilities welcomes you to discover Maremma throgh its most typical wines! You can choose between a free tasting at the counter - no need to book - and our tasting packeges with guided tour, available upon booking.

Margarita was thoughtful, informative and intelligent. She deftly guided us through the history of the cooperative and the wine making process that is unique to the installation. The visitors centre was spotless, modern and the selections were grouped into families of taste experiences. The sit-down wine tasting presentation was elegant. The appetizers were an excellent complement to the experience. It is worth a visit to this undiscovered jewel. The Vignaioli dared to be different and with time and patience it is succeeding.

During our guided tours we try to present our structure in the context of local viticulture, it's history, goals and projects as we rappresent 160 families in the Southern Maremma that have invested all their energy in producing top quality grapes.

Very beautiful, elegant and refined structure. Everything was taken care of down to the smallest details, such as the placemat with the name of each wine, water and appetizer written on it.
The visit to the cellar and the description of the wines tasted was interesting as it was described in detail by Erica, very kind and professional.

On our Maremma hike we also visited the Cooperativo del Morellino di Scansano, which produces wonderful and innovative wines. All of their products are highly recommended.

The visit to the cellar was very interesting and thorough. The tasting took care of the explanation of the wines and was abundant in both the tastings and the accompanying appetizers.
Very good wines and at a great price.

We arrived at 11am on September 13th and found the same guy. He probably doesn't like this job. I subscribe to Roby Roby's review. He didn't let us taste anything, he didn't even try to describe the wines. In any winery in Italy we have been to, we have been made to taste the wines and described. Shame on all those who work hard to produce these wines!!! I suggest changing the staff who welcome customers. Maybe take a course in good manners!!!

Today 13 September 2023 around 10.30 we went to the wine shop of the Morellino di Scansano winemakers' cellar. The boy greeted us in an annoyed and not very nice way, he told us that we couldn't taste the Charmat method even though we had purchased 12 bottles. We asked to taste red wines, but he was not very attentive and hasty and took away our glasses which were not yet empty. We are great wine enthusiasts and have been visiting wineries throughout Italy for about 30 years, tasting wine and buying many bottles, but they have never treated us this way. I believe that this unpleasant experience is not representative of the winery and the work of the winemakers in the vineyard and in the cellar. Luckily for you, however, the wine shop in Scansano made up for this shortcoming and we purchased there because they were kind and helpful. We would have bought more in the cellar if we hadn't found such an unavailable person, so we invite you to pay more attention to who you choose to represent you

We were looking for a tasting in the Scansano area, and we found their Aperivino, organized on summer Fridays, and we attended. The experience begins with a story about how the cooperative was born, proceeds with a visit to the cellar, finally arriving at the tasting. For each of the 4 wines tasted (a rosé, a white and two reds) not only appetizers, but a real "meal" (so much so that we canceled the restaurant booked for dinner). Plate of cold cuts and cheeses, fried vegetables, and the typical local acqua cotta. At the end of the tasting we purchased some bottles in the shop. Great experience!
