Fonteverde Hot springs (not hotel)
This “natural hot spring” is nothing more than a sulphur smelling community pool. It is enclosed by an industrial brick wall rusted to filth. Lounge chairs are €40 each while regular sitting chairs are free ( like I really want to spend a relaxing day sitting upright on a chair). The swampy, algae filled pool itself is underwhelming and subpar to be attached to a “ luxury world hotel”. Other indoor thermal spas can be included with a hefty price tag, however that still does not include access to the hotel pool ( which is nothing special either) the staff is incredibly rude and only care to accommodate the hotel guests. Lastly I’d like to add that there is absolutely no greenery and guests are expected to walk on a rock hard surface reminiscent of a children’s wading pool. NOT A LUXURIOUS EXPERIENCE

Thermal Pool
Jul 2019 • Couples
This was our first visit to one of Italy's famous thermal pools. Unlike many of the natural pools, this one was located inside of the spa. It features a large waterfall and several other fountain features that massage the body. We found the pool very relaxing. The staff was accommodating. We were provided with spa robes that came in handy after spending time in the thermal pool. We spent awhile just lounging by the pool. The dressing/shower area was very clean. There is a snack bar inside.

Tip: Plan to spend at least a half day to experience all they have to offer.

Not worth the money
Jul 2019 • Couples
We stayed there for one night and the location is really very very beautiful, especially in the night time! But regarding the price you have to pay and that they call themselves one of the „Leading Hotels of the World“ you can definitely expect more.
Everything is very old and not renovated, the staff is sometimes a little unfriendly and the bathroom was not clean at all (there were a lot of hairs in the shower and something on the floor). Nevertheless did we enjoy the time at the pool a lot as it was the perfect place for a hot summer day and the breakfast was very good as well!
I hope that they spend some money in a renovation because it really has potential! Otherwise it is not worth the money at all.

Enjoyable 2 night stay
May 2019 • Couples
We enjoyed our 2 night stay here. We had the half board plan so dinner was included. It's a beautiful dining room. The pools are nice and the views are incredible. There didn't seem to be many staff around during the day and we had trouble finding the towels until we discovered on our own where they are kept. Breakfast is amazing. Such a big variety and great quality.

Nearly perfect
Mar 2019 • Couples
Fonteverde is a wonderful spa hotel with excellent and professional staff.
Beautiful room with a fantastic valley view. Impressive thermal pools and facilities. The spa is efficiently run and the massage and treatments were top quality.
To the management ...
1. Your breakfast seating area is too small, we waited for 10-15 minutes to be seated and the buffet looked like it had been raided by a hungry mob.
2. The Bio Acqua Snack Bar needs to be better staffed. Only two persons serving, a long queue at the cash and people waiting for ages at the table hoping to order their plate of salad.
Bravissima Alessandra at checkout.

Relaxing end to Tuscany week
Jul 2018 • Couples
My wife and I were day visitors, not hotel guests. We have been to many spas in our travels. We took the option for a full day visit and one hour massage for $130 EU each. This was very reasonable and reflective of the spa. The massage was enjoyable. The various treatment options, especially the hot thermal baths, were very relaxing. We could lounge around the thermal pool with its waterfall and water spouts. There were numerous different Jacuzzi type whirlpools with very nice views of the countryside. I wouldn't characterize this as a high end spa, but it was very nice and worth the cost. Not a place I'd bring young children. Can't review the areas reserved for hotel guests.

Ikea clocks and thin toilet paper
Jul 2018 • Family
There were many positives. Staff / service were excellent... Really good. The spa pools were good. View was amazing. Restaurant was good. Overall very positive.

But I noticed an Ikea clock on the wall of one of the spas. And the toilet paper was thin / cheap, and the pillows were also cheap. These things tell a story. I suspect someone is focusing on profit and so cutting costs on things like toilet paper (which is an idiotic way to cut costs). What they need to do is spend some money and pay attention to the small details.

Also note - this is NOT a place for children. There is a spa pool for little handbag sized dogs... what does that tell you?... would the owner of such a dog tolerate children? enough said.

tip: for a better and cheaper meal do to Daniele's up the road.

DAY SPA: Less Luxury Spa - More Hospital Stay
We came for the day spa. Based on the reviews, we were expecting a more spa like experience. We did get treatments and they were positive and relaxing. Some areas felt nice and clean, other parts felt like a sterile 1970's hospital. The changing area was pretty institutional - like a high school locker room. We drove here based on good reviews and we would not do it again. The thermal area was interesting and fun to experience. If we had the right expectations going in, it probably would have been better. The drive is the highlight and the "destination", not the spa. Perhaps if you stayed at the hotel and were not a day spa guest - it might be a different or better experience.

Love the Relaxing Thermal Baths!
Mar 2018 • Friends
It was a cold foggy rainy day in Tuscany and we were weary travelers looking for a local adventure. We knew what spa experiences are like in America and were just a little unsure of what to expect here. We grabbed our bathing suits and headed over for the Sunday AperiSpa experience which included the sauna, steam room, thermal aqua circuit (hot and cold pools you walk thru to improve your circulation) and relaxation room, in addition to the large mineral thermal pool area outdoors. We also had an adult beverage and appertivo plate included with this special Sunday event. Awesome! Yes, we had to kind of figure out the ropes, but there are attendants to help guide you, and the clientele was friendly. The spa common areas are co-ed and there are separate men & women locker rooms and showers. If you enjoy this kind of thing be sure to visit Fonteverde when you are in the area. If you are not sure this is your thing......be brave and expand your horizons. At the very least you will have a great travel adventure story to tell.

Great Terme
Jul 2017 • Couples
We like to visit terme for the health benefits. We visited on a Tuesday when many other terme are closed. Only the pool was opened but the hydrotherapy is wonnderful for aching muscles, tendinitis and arthritis. There are waterfalls and other great ways to get a hydro masssage. The facilities are great. Lockers, changing rooms showers, etc. Also bathrobes are provided with entrance fee.
