The museum is in a highly impressive real guasi house. The guide Annamaria is very good, to say the least, non-professional. Highly recommended for those who undertake a spiritual journey, but not for those who pass through San Giovanni Rotondo.... Go there.

Padre Pio Sanctuary has everything that he used throughout his life. Even a mug with coffee stains from the day he died. It is amazing what you feel when you entered his church where they keep his body exposed in a Glass coffin. His face is still so perfect. His room, has his bed, his oxygen tank, literally everything that belonged to him. Who visits his museum will never forget it and will feel as close to him as you can be. Amazing. It is a must in San Giovanni Rotondo!

A wonderful experience, home and burial place of Saint Padre Pio, canonized in 2002 by Pope John Paul II. He was famous for the gift of stigmata which he received in 1918.

Saints bear the burden of becoming unreal in the popular imagination. This could be very true for Saint Padre Pio. I was so relieved to find a real person in this museum. While everything possible was preserved from his life, even some IV bottles, what emerged was the portrait of a real person, who lived and served heroically and truly deserves the title of saint. Check out the room with all the letters - truly astonishing!

We are devotees of St. Pius of Pietrelcina and as soon as possible we go to San Giovanni Rotondo to pay homage to the great Saint, in the country that welcomed and loved him as a favorite son. This year, while visiting the historic center of San Giovanni Rotondo, we passed in front of the Wax Museum of Padre Pio and decided to visit it. It was a surprise and a great emotion. In this building that was the residence of the family of Francesco Morcaldi, historic Mayor of San Giovanni Rotondo and spiritual son of Padre Pio, there is a wax museum that re-enacts the salient facts of the Saint's life. The tour leads between the various rooms where the environments and the protagonists of the episodes described are recreated and, first of all, Padre Pio. For the quality and authenticity of the reconstructed scenes, for the extraordinary ability of the girl who guided us in recounting the salient facts of the Saint's life, for the suggestive feeling that accompanied us throughout the visit, of really being in the presence of Padre Pio, we found ourselves living a special experience, as simple and collected as intense and exciting. Among all the rooms we particularly point out the one in which there is a bust of the scourged Christ (Ecce homo) of 1600, in front of which Padre Pio, visiting the Morcaldi house, paused being moved and crying.
