Simple room, simple life. So different from ours. This is not a place for everyone. A little bit of faith is needed. Or love for art and beautiful landscapes.

Just amazing to see where padre pio once lived and died, it was very emotional
Indeed. Such a small cell with all his personal belongings he left behind.

I loved the emotion captured in the sculpture, even if I'm atheist. the symbolism of climbing up to the top and seeing the statue is a nice touch.

This is a complete waste of time and onmly suitable for certain gullible Roman Catholics. Our group wasted three hours here. Long queues to see the mumified body of Padre Pio

Seeing the cell of Padre Pio is preceded by the old crypt where he was originally buried and a couple of rooms with photos of the Saint and vestments he used in the celebration of Mass. If you get the guidebook prior to walking through, you can read about the cell (the window from which he would greet pilgrims and the chair where he took his last breath). You can also learn about the different rooms, including the seminary room and classroom.

Unfortunately for Fr Pio his life was an open book. The Catholic Church was very sensitive to the phenomena of stigmata and so directed many inquiries and physical assessments to insure the validity of the claim. This peaceful and insightful man endured and shared his vision with all comers. "There are none so blind as those that will not see." The Cella will open your eyes.
