White city on the hil
Oct 2021
This ancient city in the hill is still buttressed. Most of the buildings are whitewashed (bring your sunglasses) and are situated on narrow winding streets. It is definitely worth a visit.

Quaint old town
Oct 2020
Our masseria we were staying recommended visiting the market, which is where the taxi dropped us off. After a quick peruse, we walked through the new town, until we hit the old town. Its very compact and without needing a map, you can easily cover most of it simply by following everyone else. To be honest, you could easily be on a greek island or in Spain, but it doesn't take away that its a pleasant walk with decent views over the coastline, with plenty of bars to stop off at.

An Apulian gem
Oct 2020 • Couples
Looking rather like a cut down version of Minas Tirith from Lord of the Rings. This is a well preserved old town of white washed buttressed walls. Well worth exploring due to its considerable charm.

Beautiful white city
Sep 2020
So beautiful to wander around with many nooks and crannies to get lost in. Picturesque doors and the local cacti everywhere creating beautiful colour contrast with the white walls.

Nice streets and sights
Aug 2020 • Family
This « white city » has the typical maze of little streets in which it is so enjoyable to lose oneself. Then you will randomly stumble on an amazing sightseeing on the azure sea. There are also loads of charming little shops around.

By the way, if you are fond of white cities, please note there are others in the region that are even lovelier.

A must see if u are in the area
Jul 2020 • Family
A lovely little town, very well maintained. Not too big, not too small, can be discovered on feet even with young children. We liked it so much that we visited it twice during our 5 day stay in the area.

Lots of entertainment
Jun 2020 • Couples
A nice town with lots of restaurants and entertainment up in the old town and the main piazza. From simple pizza restaurants to a true Michelin star
In the alleys of the upper old town you can find a number of lounge bars where in the evening you can relax and enjoy a drink.
In the summer weekends music on the main piazza and when we were there one of the bars had life music.

The old town is a nice area to discover the small alleys, enjoy the view of the sea and visit the cathedral.

In the country side around Ostuni there are a number of masseria’s where you can enjoy a country style diner.

A nice place to use as a base to discover Puglia.

A place to lose yourself
May 2020
Even before you get there the view of Ostuni’s centro storico (the old town) is worth taking in.

To take full advantage drive in from the E55 Adriatic coastal route along the SP20 (the exit at Villanova coming down from the north - Bari) or the SP21 (at Torre Pozzella coming up from the south - Lecce/Brindisi).

Like most Italian towns and cities, car parking in Ostuni can be a challenge during the holiday season. Try parking in the car park opposite the Confraternita del Carmine church between Via Salvatore Tommasi and Via Giosuè Pinto. It’s a pay and display car park, but inexpensive. You need to know your car registration number for the ticket machine. In summer it fills up pretty quickly, in which case try parking around the Parco Rimembranze, which is even cheaper with the benefit of a nice walk down towards the old town.

Ostuni’s rich heritage can be discovered around every corner of the labyrinth of the old town’s narrow cobble streets and alleyways that make for perambulatory paradise. They might take you to a rooftop garden with a view of the Adriatic over the centuries old olive groves that lie below, or they might just lead to a dead end ... leaving you no option but to turn around and explore some more.

Winding streets and lanes
Feb 2020
The old centre of Ostuni is great fun to wander around with winding paved streets, tiny stairways and fascinating buildings and shops. Best to go in the cooler months as it can be very busy in peak season of July and August
