If you are in Paros you have to visit Naoussa. It’s a charming village with beautiful winding streets with great restaurants and shopping. A great vibe in the evening at sunset when everyone comes out to eat, drink and chill. Not to be missed.

This is a busy harbor filled with working fishing boats, pleasure boats and excursion craft. It is surrounded by restaurants, cafes, and shops.
A labyrinth of narrow streets lead away from the harbor offering lots to explore.

The Old Port is beautiful!
Lots of shopping and places to dine. The people were very pleasant. We traveled the end of April so not a lot of tourism, and quite a few shops and restaurants were closed; however, it was still beautiful

Paros has two main seaside towns - Naoussa and Parikia.
Being on Paros for the first time I did not know the difference, so we chose Parikia as the main town and ferry harbor which was convenient for us.
We had a car so we spent one afternoon and evening in Naoussa which I found more beautiful with its charming whitewashed streets and houses and an abundance of restaurants.
Next time I will opt for Naoussa for my Paros vacation.

We were staying 5mins drive outside of Naoussa so visited both in the day & evening. It has a lovely little harbour lined with restaurants. Make sure you venture around the coast into the back straights as you’ll find the more picturesque traditional Cyclade buildings, rather than the more modern main square.

Worth a visit day or evening. Lots of lovely restaurants; typically Greek tavernas rub shoulders with more sophisticated options. Ditto the bars (we enjoyed several local wines and some excellent apple Martinis!). A good choice of shops, mainly clothing and jewellery, but some home stores too.
During the day, small boats set sail for local beaches.
A central square is a focal point for meeting and people-watching. We've visited eight different Greek islands to date and Paros is the only island we've returned to, it captured us

Here you can find the largest fishing fleet in the Cyclades. Absolutelly gorgeous.
You can easily find whatever you need. However there are a lot of restaurants and bars, which makes the marina too crowded... and that's the only disadvantage.

Cozy and laid-back place must to be visited, especially early morning while I was waiting for the first boat to beach and Paros park and then late after the lunch the port area was sleepy. Picturesque taverns, trendy cafe and bars. From restaurants you can see the world go by, local people, mostly fishermen doing their daily chore. The parts of the port is a small Venetian Castle or ruins. If you are in Paros, this is the one of place to go.

.. but nice. With old phishing boats. A lot of high class shops. And many taverna’s, restaurants, café’s.
Tip: try to eat freshly catched fish at Glefkos.
Took a day tour to Delos and Mykonnos, an went on my own by local bus and Ferry to Anti-Pharos. As far as I’m concerned you can skip Mykonnos.

Naoussa is a lovely place to visit with a very atmospheric port area, with fishermen mending their nets and waterfront restaurants. Worth a walk round - it won’t take long, and a visit to the small ruined Venetian castle along the sea wall (dodging the sea spray!) is fun. Nice sunset over the hills.

Je ne sais pas....j'ai aucune idée. :-)
Is it easy to buy fresh seafood off fishing boats in the port in Naoussa?

I can't answer 100% yes because we did not try but I also saw people talking to fisherman. So I would assume that was what was happening. The local restaurants serve up the best, freshest seafood.

How can I get from Parikia to Naoussa for the day, without renting a car?

They have a good bus system. Cab rides are not very expensive.

We have a day in Paros on route to Syros where can we leave our suitcases for safety whilst walking around the town.

At the main port of Parikia I noticed a luggage storage sign saying they can mind your luggage. If I was standing at the windmill near the port facing out towards the street it would be on the left hand side. There were some cafes and a walkway towards the square behind the first street. It was just there. Hope that helps

Should we get a car, for convenience sake for our stay on Paros?

definitely. it's just so easy to drive and going across and around the island is well worth it. If you don't book one you will regret it. book one of the local places rather than avis etc, much cheaper. Google paros car rentals.

Whats the best area to stay in paros

My personal preference is for Naoussa as it is stunning. There are good bus links to the rest of the island which is well worth exploring. There are many lovely villages on Paros. We have stayed in a few places in Naoussa, all good. Scorpio studios twice - in a small studio with a lovely private terrace but no sea views. The studios we stayed in for our third visit are sadly no longer operating (it was lovely with fabulous sea views). The jewel in the crown for us was our last stay at Aspia Maria. Absolutely perfect. However it depends on what you want. We like basic greek rooms or studios but cleanliness and good outside space with great views is our priority. See my review and others to see what you think. If you go to Paros, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, in particular Naoussa - it is one of my favourite places in Greece

What's the best beach in Paros
LotteK89

I only visited 2 beaches. Marchello beach and a small secluded beach when I was on my way to the nature park. I went to Marcello beach because it was close to my appartment. The secluded beach was beautiful but not safe because of the waves. You should look up the best beaches of Paros on the Internet and then check which beach meets your requirements.
