Visited this amazing church on a rainy day in August 2016! Located in a field about a 25 minute drive out of town, this church will not disappoint you. Even prettier then the pictures, the interior is stunning. Over the top Rococo style with glorious bright pink and white marble everywhere. One of the most memorable churches in Germany and... More

This church has a fabulous story and is stunning and atmospheric inside. Well worth a visit but be sure to buy the well-written guide, which helps to point out details you may not otherwise notice.

Got here fairly early before the parking lots filled so had lots of time to visit and enjoy this pilgrimage church. Don't miss it if you are in the area.

A populair church in this region and it is a beatiful one. Like many of the churches in this area it has a lot of beatiful decoration. Also many wall and ceiling paintings. When you are in the area definitely worth a visit. Entrance is free, you do need €2 for a parking ticket.

This is an amazingly beautiful little church built around a shrine that housed a statue of Jesus that was said to have shed tears. Built in the Rococo style the interior is breathtaking and awe inspiring. It is well worth the side trip if you have visited any of the palaces in the area. The only downside to the visit... More

Weis Church: In 1738, somebody saw a statue of Jesus cry, which bought pilgrims, and a little chapel, and it all led to this. It took nine years to build. Being a pilgrimage church explains why it sits in the middle of nowhere. Rococo! (pix prohibited inside; google it.)

If you are driving through this region of Bavaria to see the famous castles or visit Fussen, seeing this church is well worth to effort of driving a little out of the way to see. The history of this church is very interesting and people from all over the world make a pilgrimage to this church in the hopes of... More

I first visited Die Wies over thirty years ago. It seemed even more beautiful today. We did see some hay drying and wondered if this was a cemetery? Interesting if it is. I cannot find a photo of the church grounds that includes this spot.

The church appears to be in the middle of nowhere and looks very plain on the outside. However once you go inside the decoration is amazing. The work involved painting the interior roof and walls is beyond comprehension.

The exterior of this church does not give a hint of the interior. This is the second time my husband and I visited this church and we realized we were very closed when visiting Neuschwanstein and we wanted our granddaughter to see this special church. Even on a second visit, it is awe inspiring!! The craftsmanship leaves you amazed. Would... More
