This is our second time visiting Les Pastras. We did a truffle hunt ten years ago and adopted a truffle tree for our parent's 50th anniversary. We just returned after 10 years to see the tree and visit with Johann and his lovely wife. There is nothing I can say to share the true joy it was to see them again and experience the French countryside with on this provincial farm with grape vines, olive groves and truffle oaks. the views are amazing and the food is superb. They are so much fun to talk to and learn from. This is a can't miss if you want to be welcomed into a home and feel like family. Best experience of our trip! Thanks!

We signed up for Truffle hunting. What is not to love- seeing cute dogs find and dig up truffle. But there was much more! Johann our host gave us a masterclass in
truffles - history, how they are grown and different types. Then you follow the dogs as they searched for truffles. After that we all sat down to taste various truffle dishes. Yum! During our tasting we were educated on how to spot fresh truffles and how to buy truffles (including truffle olive oil and salt). Thank you Johann- a day we will not soon forget. Your knowledge was invaluable and delivered in an entertaining manner.

This was an experience we will never forget. We had the best time truffle hunting with the truffle dogs and then enjoying hor d’ourves and champagne with Johann and Lisa. They are simply the best. This was so special and will definitely be a major highlight of our trip in France. Johann is hilarious and really cares to teach the guests about the art and science of truffle farming. After the hunt, Lisa greeted us with champagne and truffle snacks and was so lovely and engaging. We would have stayed all night! I can’t recommend this highly enough. Truly magic evening.

I was fortunate to join a group last year on a truffle hunt at Les Pastras. Johann explained the elusive nature of truffles, and why they use dogs for hunting. Following that, we had a live demonstration with two dogs. And, yes they found truffles! But, our morning was not over. We sampled truffles on their own, on bread and butter (yummy) and even on ice cream. Don't miss out this is a fabulous experience.

Johann and Jean-Marc gave us such a fun afternoon! My husband and I learned how to play pétanque, laughed, ate great appetizers and tasted pastis and other unique wines. Highly recommended!

We spent a great afternoon at Les Pastras! It was educational, fun and of course delicious! We learnt a lot of new info about growing truffles, experienced the actual truffle hunting with dogs and of course had a great tasting session. Time flew by and I'm definitely looking forward to coming back again - either for the same or perhaps for a different activity.

We had a lot of fun during the 3 hour program. It’s split into 3 parts: first we learned all about growing truffles, then we went hunting with the dogs who found quite a few truffles. And the last part was spent tasting truffles and drinking champagne. Really a well organized and interesting way to pass an evening or morning.

OUTSTANDING Truffle Hunt! We are so happy we did the truffle hunt. Johann gave us lots of information about truffle hunting, then we met the dogs, and did the hunt. At the end of the tour we sampled many truffle hors d'oeuvres, had truffle ice cream (wonderful!!) and unlimited champagne. The whole experience will be etched in our memories forever. We will do it again and we highly recommend it.

Johann was a wonderful instructor on all things truffle! The time flew by - and we all learned a lot (even our 5 and 10 year olds!). The truffles were also delicious- and the setting beautiful. Well worth the trip!
