About
Chateau Constantin is a vineyard of 18ha of vines at the gates of the famous Lourmarin village! The Bagnis family arrived in Spring 2016 to start a new adventure by producing wine (red, rose and white). Come and discover the place, have a tasting and buy wine, everything directly with the producer..

Me and my partner stayed in the area for a couple of days and since we are fans of French wine I immediately put this place on our to-do list. The chateau is outside of Lourmarin: you either have to walk from the village or drive. We did the wine tasting which you can get for free, if you buy their wine. What was surprising and a bit strange is that apparently you cannot drink the wine at the winery. This is connected to french law regulations I guess. However, many chateaus do not bother with this. I can't imagine how law enforcement has a conversation at the winery that you can't drink wine there. Sounds a bit like theatre of the absurd, but as they say when in Rome do as the Romans do. I was a bit disappointed with this as the Chateau is beautiful and the wine we tasted was lovely.

They have a broad selection of local bio/organic wines - we purchased several and the tasting then is free

We visited many different wineries while in Provence, and Chateau Constantin was our favorite. The owner and his daughter are delightful. All of the wines are excellent. We were intrigued to see the terra cotta barrels they use to age wine. The location is lovely.
