imposing church
Jul 2020
it's an imposing construction, this Flamboyant Gothic style church on the banks of the Seine. but it is in a quite bad stage and desperately would need some reconstruction works. still it is definitely worth to visit.

The Best of Vernon
Jul 2019 • Couples
After our many weeks tour of Benelux we veered to Normandy, France and spent a lovely full day in Vernon. Seeing the sights, we did a self-guided walking tour that included the Notre-Dame Church and its neighborhood. As with almost all of the wondrous churches in Europe, this was an architectural delight for us. The church is gothic in design with beautiful stained glass windows, amazing wood carvings and all the cathedral trappings that a church of this vintage can offer. .

Nice church in a quaint town
Jul 2019 • Couples
Vernon, is a quaint French town, with a period church in the center, on the Seine river, it really is the port town close to Giverny and the Monet gardens.

Mount Vernon

Enjoyed strolling through the shopping center of town. Picked up some rain jackets and spring jacket. Had lots of places to visit and stop for a coffee. Also went to mass at the cathedral, lots of renovations going on.

A must if you are in Vernon
May 2019 • Couples
This is an easy place to get to in the town right by the river. Worth seeing. The outside is imposing as to where if sits in the city and really stands out. Walk around the church and see the original walls and decor. Inside is old and authentic. Stained glass is newer but sits well in the building. Artwork is like a lot of other churches but still I like to look. Big place. Less than a hour visit needed.

We would have stopped and gone in or walked from the train station but we came for Monet and his pond, other things to do just not enough time.

Beautiful

We visited the church on our walking tour of Vernon. It is a beautiful old church with stain glass windows and a wonderful facade. Also on the tour were timbered houses, the town hall, war memorial, and Clemenceau Bridge. It is a cute little town located on the River Seine.

A top attraction in Vernon

The Cathedral is located opposite the Town Hall and looks impressive, from both inside and outside. Streets surrounding it have old French houses. If you cross the Clemenceau bridge (to see the Old Mill painted by Monet) you have a beautiful view on the cathedral - both by day and by night.

A real architectural and magnificent church.
Sep 2016
My husband and I were touring France on the Seine River Cruise and Vernon was one of our Port of Calls. We did a walking tour of the Notre-Dame Church area which was an architectural delight for us. The church is gothic in design with of course stained glass windows, amazing wood carvings and all the gilt that a church of this century can offer. Pamphlets were available which is always nice to have as a remembrance along with all the photographs one can take. This is truly a must-see as well as the cobblestone walkways.
