I went there to get informed about both Vernon and Giverny. In order to avoid ques in Giverny I bought from there tickets for Giverny Gardens and Impressionists Museum. However, the girl who sold me the tickets (and who was confessing afterwards in French to her colleague that she does not feel comfortable with speaking English) did not say a word about the possibility to combine a ticket for impressionists museum in Giverny with a ticket for the Vernon art museum, which would have been cheaper.

A gem and also picturesque!
Sep 2016 • Friends
My husband and I were visiting Vernon while on the Seine River Cruise. We were fortunate to be able to spend an entire afternoon sightseeing. The Tourism Office was a true gem and provided us with lots of information as well as brochures. The office is a beautiful half-timbered mansion and one of the oldest houses in Vernon (15th century). It is located next to the church right on the main street. Vernon still counts 233 wooden houses scattered along old narrow streets in the vicinity of the church and mansion. The town of Vernon is a must to see for anyone who loves history and gorgeous architecture. The staff at the office pointed us in the right direction and so we made good use of our time here. Notre-Dame and the Town Hall was easy walking right down the street from the River Seine. Cobblestones walkways may be problematic for seniors who are not steady on their feet. Otherwise, it is an easy walk. We loved it!

They have answers to your questions about the area, plus excellent advice. They advised us that tickets purchased here for Fondation Monet, for 10 euros, instead of 9.50 at the door, would save us a lot of time. When visiting Monet's house in Giverny (5 km away), and gardens, there is always a twenty minute wait on a good day, and a two hour wait to purchase tickets. You also enter at the gate for groups, and walk right in, as the groups enter on the right, and you enter on the left.
There is a historical walk that you can take in Vernon, and the guide they give you is excellent

Nice medieval house with wooden structure
Apr 2017 • Couples
Externally beautiful, with a typical wooden structure, very close to the Church and the Town Hall, it is on the beautiful central square. Inside not much to see, a contemporary style.

I really appreciated their helpfulness in obtaining maps and information about Vernon itself and other destinations in Normandy. Excellent English is spoken. An interesting half-timbered old building, too.

Office in one of the oldest buildings in Vernon, near start of town historical walk
Jun 2016 • Couples
Welcoming and helpful staff in this small office. Nearby is the start of a marked walk of the town with display boards in French and English giving details of this historic old town on the river Seine. The office can give you a map showing the route.
