A lot of push and shove to get on a very slow tractor train bus to Monet's Garden. Seats are expected to seat 4 average size adults. Two People spread out on one seat would not allow others to sit and became aggressive. Driver did nothing . We came back on the big bus, Much better.

The little train looks like a kiddie ride. It costs €8 and takes you through the town of Vernon (very pretty) from the front of the train station to Giverny with recorded commentary along the way. Perhaps a taxi ride would be better because the little train lets you off in Giverny a good ten minutes' walk from the entrance to Monet's house and garden.

Thanks for your advice We are sorry that the way to go to Giverny by foot seems so long for your but the « Claude Monet street » is a foot pass so nobody can drive in (only resident). We hope you enjoyed your trip Thanks 🚂🚂🚂

The train was at the train station when we arrived. We had a very pleasant ride and learned a lot about the area along the way. We were done with the gardens about noon and caught the train back to the station and got to see even more of Vernon before we got to the station. Loved the ride and the narrative. I'd highly recommend this train!

We bought 2 return tickets, with an agreed 4pm return time for a 4.50pm train. When we got there at 3.50 the train was full. The driver told us to return at 5pm, i.e. we would have missed our train. Driver then found one seat on train and told the other person in our party to take the shuttle bus. The return fare was partly refunded, but the shuttle bus left 15 mins later and was itself almost full. Lesson: fo not trust the train people. They sell you a ticket for a specific train time but make no promise to actually provide the service. Then you may have your group split and risk missing your train.

We are sorry that you didn’t enjoy your trip but we just want to précise that the return schedule is subject to avaibility. You don’t have a fixe return time and we are not responsible of other passenger choice. So if everybody want to come back at the same time, it couldn’t be our fault. That’s why, for compensation, we give you money to take the bus (the bus or the little train are connected to the train’s to paris schedule so nobody ever missed his train). One more time we are sorry for you 🚂🚂🚂

We caught the early morning train from Paris St-Lazare station to Gare de Vernon for about €8.90. Upon arrive at Vernon station we walked past all the lovely art work in the lobby and caught the road Shuttle, called Monet's Train or Le Petite Train Giverny, to the parking lot at Claude Monet’s house. If you miss the shuttle there is public bus number 240 and it takes 10 minutes and costs two euros. The drive passes through the old medieval half wood timbered village of Vernon along street, then crosses the stone bridge over the River Seine to Giverny. It passes through the pretty Normandy country side till it reaches the charming village of Giverny, where you disembark, and continue on foot, so wear some good shoes. TIP: Sit at the back of the shuttle, you get to see before you take your photos.
