Overview
More
The Bakery Museum of Furnes houses the most important collection of bakery heritage in Belgium. Through numerous activities, demonstrations and workshops, visitors can get a (litteral!) taste of how bread used to be made back in the day. The museum is located in a restored farmhouse, the 'Zuidgasthoeve' and breathes tradition and history. The permanent collection hosts a unique ensemble of objects related to sugar, ice, chocolate, waffle and speculoos production. In the barn a collection of historic tools illustrates the process from grain to bread. Insider tip: Don't skip the museum's cafe and it's sunny terrace with playground for children. Daily fresh pastries, a cup of coffee or a local beer will make your day complete.

And some days, children can be active in this bakery museum. They can learn with some guides how to make chocolade eggs, bread, wafles, pancakes... The museum function is well established, for children and for adults. Highly recommanded.
