Last weekend we came across a very nice castle (which normally is closed for the public) where there was a flower show. More than a million bulbs are planted on a 14 hectare ground surrounding the castle. 2 cathes in 1. They had paintings in...More
I loved touring Floralia at a casual pace. The flowers were beautiful and at their peak. Not as expansive and crowded as the Keukenhof Gardens, but delightful. This spring display is a way for the castle heirs to maintain their property.
Superb setting in the grounds of a castle for this wonderful display of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and other bulbs. There were also flowering azaleas and rhododendrons, and a lovely indoor flower display. We had a sunny day and we could eat our lunch, that we...More
The price (13€ per person!!!) is a shame, the parking is badly organised: it’s a nice castle with a reasonably maintained garden (nothing special, just bigger than most private gardens). The recent rains made part of the roads inaccessible, the soil was quite muddy.
Hidden in the heart of the small Brussels suburb, Groot-Bijgaarden, lies this magnificent castle and its grounds. This is like a very tiny, not so famous Versaille. But saying that, it is still a truly beaitiful, colourful, flower show.y only gripe is that there could...More
Definetely not worth to spend €14 per person...not so much to see,bit crowded, mud around flowers, bulbs are beautiful but at least someone should have weed them.Better travel bit further to Hollands Keukenhof to have experience of your life.
It's like you enter a new world suddenly.

The Groot-Bijgaarden (castle) is still a family home, and the grounds of the castle are the location of the annual Floralia show. Thousands of tulips, daffodils, and other spring bulb flowers, plus azaleas, rhododendrons, and lilacs. The chapel is the only part of the castle...More

By car. Take the E19 to Brussels. Follow the E19 around Brussels (ring). Then you will see an exit to groot bijgaarden. Follow this to the centre. Ok once in the centre (you arrive at square) you go to the left and immediately to the right.
Follow this road (not very far) and at a sharp turn you can park at the left (you have to drive in a field). The castle and flowers are across the street. Enjoy.
