Went to see the exhibition this past weekend and I absolutely loved it! It was spectacular! Tulips are amazing, all kinds. This was also the weekend of Venetian Masks parade and I also loved this, too. Some of them were a bit tacky, true, but most of them were really beautiful. For me it was a double spectacle: the flowers and the masks.
The place is a bit far away from Brussels city center, so do take that into account regarding price, but it is reachable by buses. Price is 15e for adults, you have to pay extra for going to the toilet (0,50e every time), which I find a bit exaggerated since I already purchased an entrance. You can find parking next to the Castle, but it is 4e. there-s also another parking a little bit down the road, but it is limited to only 2hrs.
You can also find a cafeteria with stuff to enjoy outside, next to the beautiful tulips, and an indoors exhibition of different flowers (roses, orchids, callas, etc).
All in all, for me it was totally worth it because I love flowers and Venetian masks, so it was the perfect combination. I totally recommend it!

I knew nothing of this flower show before I got there but I saw a few signs up around the city. I asked a few people who knew nothing about it or how to get there. I ended up taking the train to Groot Bijgaarden, about 20 minutes outside of Brussels then followed the crowd. Had the most wonderful afternoon, breathing in the scent of the flowers and enjoying the blue sky. I highly recommend going to the show. It wasn't nearly as busy as Keukenhof in Amsterdam.

Hidden in the heart of the small Brussels suburb, Groot-Bijgaarden, lies this magnificent castle and its grounds. This is like a very tiny, not so famous Versaille. But saying that, it is still a truly beaitiful, colourful, flower show.y only gripe is that there could habe been more bigger flowers and more colour spread throughout. But if you have the time I do recommend visiting. Its is a really nice setting, the type of place someone wealthy would have a really amazing summer wedding/garden party at.

I visited Floralia on Easter Sunday, two days after the opening of the flower show in the gardens of the castle of Groot-Bijgaarden, together with my boyfriend. Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, a lot of the flowers weren't blooming yet. Some were and they were lovely, but I could clearly tell I'd come too soon.
I'll revisit later this month and post an update then, but this is what I can say so far:
The gardens of the castle are lovely for a stroll. They're not that big and we'd done our tour in about an hour. Part of that is due to the fact that not all flowers were blooming yet. I think if they'd been, we would have stayed an hour extra.
There are flowers on display in the chapel of the castle, but that's the only part of the castle that you can enter. The rest is only open when you plan an event there.
There's a parking lot right in front of the entrance and public transportation nearby.
We both thought the admission fee of €12 was too steep for one visit, but we did get a free ticket to revisit this season. That makes it €6 per visit, which is okay.
Final tip: don't wear your best shoes if it's been raining. There are paths to walk on, but you'll want to get onto the grass as well.

The price (13€ per person!!!) is a shame, the parking is badly organised: it’s a nice castle with a reasonably maintained garden (nothing special, just bigger than most private gardens). The recent rains made part of the roads inaccessible, the soil was quite muddy.

After having visited the major tulip gardens (Keukenhof) in Amsterdam three times over the past few years, it was such a delightful experience strolling around Florialia without literally thousands of people thronging everywhere. Only 12E entry or 10 for seniors makes it very reasonable compared to other events in other countries.

The glasshouse held a superbly presented array of floral arrangements and plant displays. Pristine quality blooms and plants enhanced by creative and artistic presentation. It was an utter delight.

Although there was a school excursion, the children revelled in the kids' area allowing adults to enjoy the millions of tulips in peace. Every garden bed held a different combination of species or at times, the same colour was used by planting bulbs or annuals of the same colour, creating visual and photographic magic everywhere.

The venue is great for those disabled or in a wheelchair. There is a make-shift cafe offeriing good coffee. Easy lunches were also available. But a short stroll up the hill outside the garden towards the township there are some restaurants. We dined at the one on the corner, an Italian cuisine restaurant offering superb service and quality, delectable food.

The exhibition area is nice, as the overall atmosphere. Unfortunately, at the beginning of May most of the flowers are aged. The blossom time is gone, they should close the park earlier or reduce the fee when it is in such bad condition.
No maintanance, no people in charge of improve the flowers... nothing in comparison with Keukenhof.
If you would like to go there, go earlier!

A nice variety to take flower pictures. It is not the Keukenhof, but it is closer to home, and most of the flowers are improrted from The Netherlands anyway.

Last weekend we came across a very nice castle (which normally is closed for the public) where there was a flower show. More than a million bulbs are planted on a 14 hectare ground surrounding the castle. 2 cathes in 1. They had paintings in garden which you will surtanly admire. The castle is a castle should look like with a nice 14 century tower what you can climb into the top. From there you can oversee the garden . An absolute winner
