Lovely lake to take a trip around by boat. Nice places on the shores to visit including the Gerlitzen and Ossiach. Wonderful views and very peaceful around the lake, quieter and less commercial than some of the other lakes.

Cycling around the lake, aproximately 2 hours around the lake with plenty of stops. We rented bikes in bike paradies 30 € for half a day.

We took a 2 hour boat trip arround the lake and recommend it. Especially if you manage to get on the bigger and more beautiful of the two boats in service, the Ossiacher boat. The trip can take longer as it is possible to get off the boat along the way and go swimming or sightseeing. Free with Karnten card.

Nice lake with picturesque surroundings. We arrived by car, parking not a problem. Nice for a swim in hot weather and the area is very well kept and clean. If you are in the area I recommend a visit.

Very beautiful place, so peaceful! A must see when visiting Carinthia region. Spend a wonderful day there visiting the old monastery or take a boat tour!

End of September is very calm here, most of the tourists back at home. The Ossiach lake was a great stop on the half way back to Czech Republic. If you have a bike, don't miss riding around the lake, it's not more then 30 km and very pleasant with great views in the lake.

Ossiacher See is a much quieter destination to its nearby more ritzy Worthersee. There is a ferry service and water sports to be had. Day trips to Viilach, Klagenfurt and Velden are worthwhile and a train line takes you from Villach along the northern shoreline to villages along the lake and to Feldkirch. My preference would be to stay in the small village of Ossiach, mainly for its scenic location. It has a Monastery of note as well.

Osojsko jezero (ossiacher See) provides you with quite warm wather and quite cold water. As at all austrin lakes, lake-shore it is privatised and so you will be able to have cintact with it's coast only in small villages or near monastery in Osoje (Ossiach). There is a lot of parking places - be aware you pax parking fee (there is alot of vending machines around) or local "police" will charge you penalty. Ex-monastery is wotrh of visiting, no mateter you want to try local cousine (verry good restaurant), just walk through the monastery ground, visit verry well preserved grave-yard ot impy sit on th lakeshore and observe the view.

The Ossiacher See if cool place to spend a couple of days, it's nearby the motorway going either north or south.. The water and the views are very cool. The city is not that concentrated and you need to drive for most of the things, making it hard to get a glass of beer or wine.

Not the warmest, not the biggest, not the smallest but still authentic. Don't forget to visit the Gerlitzen Alp, there is a possibility left when you enter the valley from Villach.
