Where is everybody? Just after internal travel started and there are not many people about. This is a beautiful beach with fine white sand, unfortunately, there is also a lot of plastic waste that washes up. There doesn't seem to be a lot of sustained effort in clearing it up although I did see a party of volunteers doing their best on one day. The hotel is great - staff helpful - we were in the 'Hip Zone' and it was just what we were after. Room was big and very clean. The whole place is laid back. Beach is great, especially the bit constantly tended by the hotel. Beach bars are good/bohemian. We didn't think that the number of boats/watersports etc. were excessive. Thanks Sai Kaew for a great four days and nights.…

The Sai Kaew beach and the small town behind it, are unfortunately best examples what happens to tropical paradises if low class mass tourism and uneducated local greed for money are mixed together. The result is a dirty, stinking, polluted, loud and destroyed place you don‘t want to spend your hard-earned holiday money. Even more ridiculous is, that the place is defined as so called National Park and a corresponding entry fee has to be paid...…
