A great part of our visit to this lovely park was Haew Suwat Waterfall, famous for appearing in the film The Beach (deCaprio). We went in the rainy season so the flow was impressive, not sure what it would be like in the dry season.
You can see it from the top from a good viewing point but to look up at the falls from the bottom requires 120+ steep steps down and then back up. But it was worth it.
Recommend viewing.

Romour has it, that Suwat was miscreant who stole someone's property, and in a chase from the poloice, he jumped into the waterfall and drowned.
Its other claim to fame is that this was the waterfall that is filmed on de Caprio's movie, The Beach.
It's a reasonable pretty fall, easily accessible from its large car park, just about a 200m walk.
If you go to Khao Yai, as there's just two basic attractions, both waterfalls, you certainly going to visit...

It was September which was rainy season. We hiked to Haew Suwat Waterfalls in 15 minutes. We spent about 30 minutes at the Falls. Swimming wasn’t allowed at the Falls. The Falls were beautiful. The facilities near the parking were good.

Haew Sawat is a ver accessible and impressive waterfall to see in Khao Yai. We drove in from Pak Chong in about 1.5 hours on a busy Sunday. The Falls has a large parking lot, good rest area facilities and an easy walk of less than 400 meters down to the falls. Yes there are a few steep stairs to navigate, but they have good handrails and should not be a problem for most people.
The falls in November had lots of water and was a great show. Full of people taking photos and enjoying a day in nature. At the falls you have to climb over rocks as the entire area is undeveloped. Well worth the drive in and the walk down to the falls. Only reason I rated it a. 4 is that the activities here are limited with no access to slipping into the water.

I wanted to visit Haew Suwat waterfalls to duplicate the awesome pictures posted in www
Alas it was dry season when I visited the national park and the water (falls) levels were kinda disappointment for photography
It was a beautiful waterfalls no less and I can imagine it would be even more stunning with the two falls flowing full water
Easy access to the waterfalls ground zero via car and a few minutes of walking to the falls.

We would have enjoyed the trekking a lot more if there were signages along the path. There were several paths that split and we didn’t know which way to go. Eventually, we turned back after trekking for about 2km and drove to the waterfall instead. Good hiking shoes are important.

The walk in was relatively easy but when it came to the descent I gave up because it was too steep. And the steps are small. The fall is rather small. Some friends who braved the steep descent felt that it was not worth to effort just to see a small fall

Beautiful, it’s about 200m walk from the car park a really lovely spot. Make sure you leave belongings in the car, as climbing over rocks with a handbag and stuff is not recommended! Get there early as by mid day it’s packed with people and the tour buses start arriving in the afternoon.

Walking on trail to the waterfall. Walk to the waterfall not too far.
Take care of your children when walk to the top or waterfall. There are parking space near the place. Nice cave with water curtain.

Some waterfalls are a long walk from the car parks in Khao Yai National Park, which is great for those who are fit and healthy, and have the time to walk for several hours. The Haew Suwat Waterfall is right next to the car park. That makes it a popular and busy location, however it is worth stopping by for a short visit.

Is there any entrance fee to Haew Suwat Waterfall?

You only need to pay for the entrance fee into the National Park. No need to pay other fee except if you want to hire a tour guide to bring you to other attraction places in the park

Emily Z,
my apologies. March to May are dry season and the waterfalls would be trickles of water. June to November are the better months to visit. So you might want to skip the waterfalls if you are going there these couple of months

You can choose which attractions within the Khao Yai national park that you wish to visit but you need to have your own means of transport as there's no public transportation like a bus service within the national park. We hired a taxi from Bangkok for 3 days to get around in Khao Yai and back to Bangkok.

Hi, Is it safe to go / walk up to the Waterfall with a 1-year old baby?
Roger Miller
Pak Chong, Thailand813 contributions
Sorry so late with my response. I do not think you will want to go all the way down to the waterfall area and then over all the rocks with a young baby. Lots of risk of a slip and fall even without a baby so I would not recommend this.
