- M Sorensen1 contributionGreat place to experience Thai wineWe had the opportunity to discuss the viticulture with Mr. Piangbunta, PB's wine maker, over a most enjoyable meal. I have been to 4 of the 6 wineries in Thailand and PB is one I would recommend. There are a number of challenges with the way the Thai Government treats wine, which is really to bad for the wine community in Thailand. If I were to suggest, if PB were to develop a wine maker series for 10 to 16 folks every 2 to 4 weeks, with a menu that would complement a number of wines....I think this would provide an alternative to a tour of the vineyard, a couple of tastings, then you are on your way. When you get the opportunity to have the wine open up in your glass, coupled with food, your experience would be well worth a bottle of wine and a meal. If everyone in the group of 10 to 12 bought a bottle to share with everyone else....might become a party. There are ways around the rules of the Thai government.....We thank you for taking the time to post your nice comments about your visit to PB Valley on Trip Advisor. Your feedback is a valuable tool in our quest to provide perfect services to our guests since it is through the eyes of our guests to know how we are performing. Thank you for your suggestion - actually we do have so-called a wine appreciation class in our program :-) We are looking forward to welcoming you, your family and friends at PB Valley the birthplace of the Khao Yai Wine Region again in the not too far future – cheersWritten May 1, 2020This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited November 2019Written January 9, 2020
- Bonnie ZBangkok, Thailand138 contributionsLovely afternoon at PBWe had a lovely visit at PB Winery this week. We took the hour-long tour of the vineyard & wine making and enjoyed the ride in the open air bus and presentation from the staff. The tour culminated in wine tasting of 3 wines which we also enjoyed and included a 5% discount on items in the shop. The staff were very helpful to us and clearly passionate about their product. I have been to far more elaborate vineyards but the genuine pride and desire for us to have a good time that the staff showed here made it memorable. With apologies for a much-delayed response due to changes in our IT department We thank you for taking the time to post your nice comments about your visit to PB Valley. - ongwl82016Singapore, Singapore789 contributionsAverage Rush TourSitting in the buggy that drove us around the winery was actually very enjoying and a comfortable way to see the vineyard. Along the way the guide introduced the vineyard using English which was not very clear and at time hard to understand. We were given some time to get off at various stations to explore and take photo. Time on our own were very short and rushing. Tasting of various types of wines were not as good those in Australia or US but we already expected this. After the tour we took our own time to explore area around the gift shop. There was a animal farm which the children would definitely enjoyed where they can feed the rabbits that surround them.Visited March 2019Traveled with familyWritten December 31, 2019
- KP Wong-SgSingapore, Singapore242 contributionsA ripoff - just walk thru the vineyards for freeMy family of 4 (no teens) paid for 9:50am tour. 3 stops supposedly 60min but it ended in 45min. Once onboard, the English narration was heavily Thai-accented, loud but not audible. The 1st stop was only 5 min to take photos at the table grape vines. Before u can reach the end of 1 row, the guide was rushing us to board the buggy. The 2nd stop was the narration was the wine production, it started even before we are assembled properly, rushed through & a Chinese guide was talking in the background making it even harder to hear. Another guide comes along to chase everyone to the wine tasting stop, saying tt they will close the door. The instructions on wine sampling & description of the wines were done even when people were talking noisily in the background. before we can savour the 1st wine, we were rushed to sample the 2nd & the 3rd. And ferried back to wine shop. When we were brought back, there was a big section that another buggy was touring & we ended up walking in the sun. The Shiraz & 2 other samples are lousy & pricy. So dont bother coming. They dont know how to wines. For 300baht, it is a ripoff. (i regretted not heeding advice of earlier reviews)Visited January 2020Traveled with familyWritten January 5, 2020
- dyhx3,455 contributionsMust do in KhaoyaiWe had a winery tour-cum-lunch booked for 130pm and made it just in time as the buggy was about to leave. The entire tour took just over an hour, bringing us on a ride through their vineyards where we got to get off to take some photos (but no 'fruit picking'), then headed to their factory to learn about their wine making process including access to their fermentation halls and finally, for wine tasting of 3 wines (1 Rose, 2 Shiraz). Then we were sent back to the main entrance where the restaurant was, for our lunch. Food was good, we opted for the Easy Thai which came with their signature Shiraz Grape Juice, choice of a main (I had the Fried Rice with Pork while my friend had the Pad Thai) and a Grape Sorbet dessert. Food was decent, though it felt weird to have grapes in the Pad Thai and the pork in the fried rice was dry and tough. The Grape sorbet was excellent. Our tour ticket also included discount vouchers which one could use for meals at the restaurant (a la carte items) and the retail shop.Visited December 2022Traveled with friendsWritten December 23, 2022

But after we ordered they should serve us some bread as a complimentary ( I have been to many place they do for western food ),when we were waiting the food because we not ordered the starter or appetizer. I think that was a normal for this restaurant no have the complimentary with drink but later on next table order drink they serve with crispy bread come together. - reddot-conquersworldSingapore, Singapore58 contributionsDon't waste time with this tourI wouldn't recommend a visit to PB Valley, unless you have never been to a vineyard or a winery before, and you are bored with nothing better to do in Khao Yai. The place is rather run-down and require a lot more upkeeping. The tour is conducted in English, but we have problem understanding the narration due to the heavy accented English spoken by the guide. There was a Thai lady who spoke much better English at the ticketing counter, not sure why she wasn't the one doing the tour. The tour is conducted in such a hurried manner that questions do not seem welcome as the guide does not seem to possess the knowledge of wine making beyond the basic. Plastic bags, bottles and wrappers can even be seen littered around the vineyard and farm. The one white Chenin Blanc and two red Shiraz offered for tasting were horrible. We all left without even buying any bottle. Even the house produced wines were not the main focus at the gift shop.A mixture of other products are more prominently displayed instead.. No wonder we don't see any western tourists taking this tour or even bother to visit this vineyard.Visited January 2020Written January 5, 2020

We had a fun time visiting the place as it has other things to see aside from waiting for the tour. The place is also very well maintained. Downside is we were not able to see grapes in full bloom as it was not yet harvest season.

An excellent place to stop for good food and good wine. The rose we found particularly delicious but also an excellent Shiraz reserve. Not over priced so there were plenty of customers. You could also do a guided tour of the vineyard.

Hi everyone, I wish to know the transport from Don Muang Airport to Khao yai. This is my first time visit to Thailand and I couldn't get a better idea of the transport way.
My plan is to travel to Khao yai for three days two night and Bangkok for the next two days as well. As what I heard, there is no public transport in Khao yai. So what's the better choice for us to get to the attractions? Both of us do not have driving license too. I wish to know the price and the best transport with reasonable price for 2 people during our trip.
I will appreciate if you can share some great experience and ideas.
Thank you!

Thank you for your message as we do not think it is a review but you give us 3-stars, for what we do not know. But you are right there is no Taxi or Tuk Tuk service in our area all public service like Train, Bus and Van services stop at Muak Lek Town about 7 km's away. However if you book one of the many hotels/resorts in our area you will find that they do have transfers services. They also organize trips to PB Valley. Alternatively you can use a travel agent of your choice for your trip. Alternatively again you can rent a car or van with driver in Bangkok. We can't provide any links in here but you can contact us via our website. Best regards

Flowers in the park are ever changing and new ones are planted and growiing all the times. Flower park will be a good place to visit until about end of February when it starts to get very warm again. by the way visitors who book the vinetard and winery tour can enter the flower park at no cost.

3)what are the opening hours?

Hello Hlmilk3.
1. The tour is in Thai and English. I think maybe Chinese would be possible but its the best for you to ask them about available language.
2. You can still explore without the tour but I do not recommend that. Actually the tour fee is not that expensive. It costs 320Bhat. The tourist site of winery is still considered quite big to walk around. Besides, within the tour ticket you can get 10% off for the foods in the restaurants in there. You can have a meal in there before the tour starts. Furthermore, with the tour ticket you can get 5% off for your purchasing of buying presents in shop in there. Good deal, isn’t it?
3. The opening hours if winery is from 8AM to 8PM. However, the starting of tour time is at 9am, 10.30am, 12pm, 1.30pm and the last is at 3.30pm.
Hope these three information were helpful to you my friend. Enjoy yourself in winery then. ^^

Hi if we didn’t book the tour in advance and it is full. Does it mean that we cannot pay entrance fee and roam around on our own?
Heribertg
Bangkok7 contributions
There is no entrance fee as such - only a charge for the vineyard and winery tours - if they are fully booked which happens in peak season then of course, and at no charge you can enjoy walking in the beautiful flower park and some of the vineyards which are located behind our Great Hornbill Grill. The restaurant is open daily from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm (Fridays and Saturdays until 10:00 pm). Wine tasting sets are available at the restaurant as well. The shop and the mini farmers market are open too.

You can walk-in however it is strongly advised to make a reservation well in advance as even with 5-schedules per day it can happen that some are fully booked - go to the khaoyaiwinery website - thanks
Hi , is this the season for harvesting grapes?

Harvesting for wine grapes is once a year end of January to early March. Fresh table grapes are growing all year around thus ypou can always see grapes. Harvest Festival is normally in early to mid February. More info on the website and FB page of PB Valley
