It’s a very beautiful big clean beach with black sand. It is also known as Kala Samudra. It is called The Gateway of Ratnagiri as it is surrounded by Ratnadurg Fort and Arabian Sea. We enjoyed the best view of Sunrise in the morning by doing Couple Running for few kms. We also did Car driving on beach.
There is a beautiful walkway view point to see beach with benches to sit and there are lots of food stalls and this beach is ideal picnic spot too. In the evening its too crowded. We enjoyed one of the best Beautiful stunning sunset of our life. The view of Sun dipping into Arabian Sea is mesmerizing.

This beach is near to Ratnagiri town. Can be visited while returning form Ratnadurg Fort. Beach is frequented by locals and tourists both. Sitting and viewing the sunset is amazing. But beach is much crowded.

I have visited this beach many times in the past. It was famous for black sand and dirtyness. But local authority renovated bridge and old jeti like structure where you can take a walk at night and can experience awesome night views. My suggestion is that don't visit this beach on Saturday or Sunday evening time. Visit it during morning time or night time.

Beach is not at all happening. Black sand and it doesn't feel like to go around beach for a walk as not at all clean. Few food options like bhel items, cone and ice cream. Sea Fan Hotel, have sea view restaurant and one more bar and restaurant beside. That's it, can't spend time more than half an hour on beach. Gateway of Ratnagiri is starting point of beach. Auto will charge you 20/- rupees from Ratnagiri ST Stand.

Very good place to have a walk in the morning.
Breath some fresh air. Enjoy the sun rise and feel the heat of morning sun watching at the endless ocean and hear the roaring waves. Most favorite place of locked to visit in the evening , have chat, icecream, etc and don't forget to have ragda patis at abhiruchi snacks it's awesome....

Do not waste your travel time there. There is n't much to see or experience there and cleanliness leaves much to be desired, It's small and insignificant.

I went to Mandavi Beach. Most crowded beach of Ratnagiri with a panoramic view of Ratnadurg fort in the west and Arabian sea to the south. It has a vast line of seashore upto Rajiwanda port. It is great place to go.

THis is a nice longish beach in Ratnagiri town.
One will find many locals as well as outsiders enjoying the sunset and views in the evening. Quite a chirpy place
