We took a pit stop after visiting the Jaigad fort. It's a smaller setup than the one at Ratnagiri, but still worth a visit. Place is well maintained and there are quite a few photo ops available

Jaigad fort is bettwer then other fort, however due to zero Maintenance from archaeological survey department , this place is getting destroyed over time, Very old Structure of Light House under Jaigad Fort, nothing is here. You need to keep only 30-60 Minutes to visit this place while on the way to Ganpatiphule or coming back from there.

The Jaigad fort, lighthouse, Karateshwar Mandir, the huge Chougule shipyard and Jindal power plant are in the near vicinity.

Jaigad is around 30 kms from Ratnagiri and pretty close to Ganpatipule.

You SHOULD visit the light house if you are in Ganpatipule. A Hyderabadi guy, who is stationed there for the maintenance of the lighthouse, shows you around and inside the light house. The scenery from the top is very beautiful and serene! The guy explained us the machinery of the lighthouse and how it worked. He explained how every lighthouse has a different colour combination. This one had red and white stripes whereas the one in Ratnagiri has black and white stripes. The light emanated from here is visible for 44 kms in the sea. It is a huge help for ships in the night to know where the shore lies. Ships can also know the identification of each lighthouse from the number of flashes generate in each minute, since each lighthouse has a different combination. The funny part was that this lighthouse was being operated from Mumbai and not here. The lighthouse was a nice experience. There are timings to visit it – from . Just outside the gate of the lighthouse, the scenery is very beautiful with greenery leading all the way up to the sea.
Somewhere on the way, we saw Undi beach which has blackish sand but was completely deserted. This was one of the designated spots in our tour but we were happy to skip it.

Nothing great. Dont be disappointed if you missed it. But they road from Ganapatipule to Jaigad has some very nice clean beaches. Drive from Ganapatipule to Jaigad is more worth full than the lighthouse/fort.

Good experience to visit a lighthouse from yesteryears.

One can climb at the top of of the lighthouse only between 4-5 PM, hence plan your travel accordingly. Car/Vehicle can go right upto the gate of the lighthouse premise.
Photography allowed by paying Rs 20 alongwith entry fee of Rs 10 per person.

If you're in Ganpatipule and had enough beach bumming, you might as well see the lighthouse (and Jaigad Fort). It's not too much effort, after all, if you have time.

It's a nice lighthouse, well maintained. A small entry fee (20-30 Rs, can't recall) and it gives you the usual nice views of the sea and nearby greenery.

And of course, some nice photo ops both up and down.

It's a very well maintained, probably functional old lighthouse made in the British era, with an excellent 360 degree view from the top. Is a bit difficult for little children and older folks to climb and definitely not a place to be if you fear heights. The guard / keeper charged INR 30 per person unofficially and seemed drunk.

This is all Iron made Light House, made by some company during British Era. It's in good shape and well preserved by Government of India.

Guard is pretty arrogant and may spoil the mood, so it better to remember that visit this only from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM, this may cost you 10 Rupees per person and 20 Rupees for taking pictures.

Jaigad Lighthouse was built by the British in 1932. The Interesting thing about the lighthouse at Jaigad is that it is made completely out of Steel mostly by cast iron. from outer side we tens to believe this as concrete or brick wall but actually its prefeb steel structure.
the visiting timing is almost full day but if you want to go top then timing will be only evening 4.00 to 5.00 pm.
It is having gorgeous vies of Arabian sea from top. compound is also peaceful camp and beautiful specially in rainy season.
it is just 19 km from Ganpati phule beach and you can visit two three more beach on rout.
The newly fitted LED lights is having prise teg of approx 35 Lacs. Which was really unbelievable for me. From inside one can see its unique rotating mechanism.
Really must visit place if you are in this region.
