This is the very first review I have ever written as I am a pretty easily pleased kind of person. The bathrooms in the main lobby reeked of raw sewage the entire weekend. Our room was filthy and they dont even provide soap for the bathroom sink. The front desk seemed annoyed with our group. Our fries took 2.5 hours to arrive, the bar manager spoke extremely rude to the waitress and made us all feel uncomfortable to be there. At night for dinner, if you want to actually eat, go somewhere else. The portions would never fill an adult and I had to send my meal back as it was not fully cooked. When it came back all of my sides were cold. A table of 5 men got up and left visibly upset while we were dining there. I totally understand why. The spa package is a joke. $1200 for one regualr room with 2 double beds.Thats not what was advertised yet they charged us that anyway. There was a car parked in the back of the parking lot and many cars came off the street and went to the car. Drug dealings right in the parking lot. Then to finish it all off, my friend who had a massage booked received a phonecall while we were at breakfast saying that they had to move her appointment to 4 o'clock. We had to be checked out at 11 and had a long drive home so she didnt even get to have a massage while we were there. What a waste of time and money. It presented like a budget motel with terrible customer service. I highly suggest that you spend your money elsewhere. I WOULD NEVER GO BACK!!!!!!!!!

The description was lovely. A pizza garden in the Hockley resort. A wood oven pizza oven nestled within the vegetables Hockley grows for the Orangeville Food Bank. I called ahead, no reservations required I was told, but be sure to come well before closing at 5 pm. All fine. Are you licenced? Of course! Even better! We arrived. The “pizza garden” is indeed in the garden, but the tent and tables look like they were from on old buffet. No table service. Ok. As for the licence? Only beer. Really? Hockley is co owned by adamo and they don’t serve wine in pizza garden ??
Suggest we go to patio in hotel where they do serve some pizzas. We wait. That is okay, covid requires extra attention. We get to our table. It is not acceptable cleanliness wise in a pre covid world. Asked to be cleaned again. Still sketch. My husband cleans it again. (We should have left but I was beyond starving). Pizzas were fine. Wine was double (DOUBLE) what we paid for the same bottle at adamo 5 minutes away. Also, ambience was......totally lacking and service was...not great. Lots of better options, even in covid times.

The instructors at the resort are very rude and racist. They treat everyone different because of the way they look and their level of skiing.

At a friends wedding in August we had booked a room for the night .
The ceremony was gorgeous .
Later hearing that another bridal party was granted an extra 1/2 hour where my friends weddign to take place in the garden for photos-this was not part of the wedding contract my friend had signed. Not good Hockley.
Food at reception was great. Unfortunately according to the bar staff "we've run out of wine." BY no means am I big drinker but 1.5 glasses of wine which was poured- not leaving the bottle on the table is also NOT good.
Where at a wedding to you hear "we've ran out of wine" ? More so when Hockley works directly with Adamo estate winery-which is they wine that was being served. Luckily for some who were spending g the night had wine in their rooms. Not good Hockley.
The Room- having spent $350 for two queen beds - I'd expect the resorts hotel rooms bathroom to be clean. I found a total of 4 long black hairs in the bathroom: one in the tub and another three on the floor of the bathroom. I am bald and my partner has short hair. really? Was the room even cleaned? Besides clean sheets and few nicks and dents which need addressing in room 550 the room was satisfactory but by no means 5star clean.
According to others at the wedding their rooms were not clean to the standard that a "highly rated" resort shoukd have them at.
Iweve stayed at holiday inns while road tripping and have had better experiences with hotel rooms.
It's a gorgeous place but did tell needs work w rooms and apparently wedding services.
Also, I've since heard that guest were not granted deposits back on rooms booked Touché Hockley.
Pull up your socks.

Hockley Valley is nice but nothing out of the ordinary if you are expecting a four star resort and service level. Checking in was simple but not inviting. It seems the people at the front desk follow a process that doesn't include much interest in the guests. We waited in a short line and were greeted and told the exact same thing that the 3 previous customers were told as if the employees were on a customer service intake desk. We were not asked for any ID which is a concern considering most reservations are made on line and anyone can check into a room as someone else if they can hack into a number of resrevation websites or wi fi connections. Our room was not ready upon arrival and when we went to pick up the key we were not asked for any ID either which is a concern as anyone can enter the property and sit in the lobby listening to people check in and take their rooms. Check in is at 4pm and checkout is at 11am. If you want to extend your check out they may give you until 12pm if asked but charge 25$ an hour as a standard rate for extending past 11am. The standard procedure is to "pre register" the arriving guest and we are told to pick up our keys at 4pm. When asked the question why there are no rooms ready before 4pm if check out is at 11am and why check out is so early we were told "Unfortunately we don't give the full 24 hours" .
The hotel has been recently renovated and the lobby, lounge bar area is nice. The outside and pool area is small. There is no service at the pool but an outside eating area next to it. Sometimes the service is quick and sometimes slow. While sitting at the bar waiting for our room we waited 20 minutes for someone to appear. We ordered drinks and appetizers and the appetizers never came. We ordered them from one person and she immediately disappeared (we assume that her shift ended) and our food never came. The order must not have been inputted because the food did not appear on our bill.
The following are more points to consider when choosing this resort based on your preferences:
-Upon check-in we were not asked if we new our way around or informed of the various areas of the resort. We were not informed of any activities nor was there any information in the room. It was disappointing to see a yoga class taking place in the morning as we were walking the hallways after breakfast as we would've liked the opportunity to participate.
-There didn't seem to be a concierge and everything took place at the front desk which was frequently busy so you had to stand in line just to ask a question.
-The room has no minibar or even a fridge to store cold drinks. Where there was supposed to be a fridge or minibar the space was empty. It was an empty cabinet.
-There are no water bottles in the room.
-Coffee: the room is initially provided with two regular coffee k-cups , one decaffeinated k-cup and one tea k-cup. There is a sign that states if you want more you have to actually go down to the front desk and buy more. Please be aware that these k-cups are not replenished every day and if you stay more than one night you have to buy your morning coffee for your room.
-The beds are comfy. The heat and air conditioning system is old it is hard to regulate. There is no thermostat and the air flow is regulated from the wall unit.
-The bathrooms are nice and seem recently renovated. However, we had three registered guests in the room and only had two towels. By the time we noticed this it was too late as we showered right before dinner. The hotel was aware there were three guests as they gave us three breakfast vouchers upon check-in.
-The resort restaurant Cabin has an open kitchen but not much ambience. It was very loud as it was very busy. The service was good at the restaurant, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. We were brought amuse bouches before dinner. The dishes are not spectacular but a good meal none the less.
-The resort was busy and the restaurant was full. The Sunday Roast dinner is advertised throughout the resort as well as in each elevator. We had an 8:30pm reservation and were told that the the meal was sold out as the kitchen only prepares enough for eighteen plates. It does not make sense to promote a dish and have a restaurant with full seating all night and only prepare eighteen dishes.
-There is a lovely vineyard , garden area with an outdoor restaurant serving fresh wood grilled pizza. It is only open Saturday and Sunday and we were disappointed that the resort didn't choose to open the restaurant on a holiday Monday considering the hotel was very busy.
-The included breakfast buffet was very good with lots of choices for every palate. All food is farm fresh and ontario produced. Eggs, bacon, salmon, lots of fruit, frittata, various bread and pastry choices , porridge, french toast, fresh juices, coffee etc.....
-Checkout was easy with no issues.
*** Hockley Valley Resort is a privately owned establishment that is well run but sometimes lacks the customer service and/or services that other resorts provide. We felt quite anonymous during our stay as there really were no personal touches and some services and amenities were disappointing. It is hard to tell if this resort is modelled after a large business hotel or trying to be an exclusive boutique resort.

Paid for an executive suite on the 4 th floor which was an upgrade. The room was filthy! There was dust thick enough to write your name on the tables. The sofa upholstery was worn right through. There was bird poop on the inside of the filthy windows. I have no idea how that could happen! The carpets In the room and hallway were badly stained. The wallpaper was peeling and ceiling tiles were stained and cracked.
Tried to have a morning shower and there was a trickle of water at best.
The Cabin restaurant was good, The pool area is very small but adequate.
Unless you are a golfer there is little to do.
Checked out early as we could not bear another day in this dump.

My gal pal & I went last week to treat ourselves and we had an absolute blast. We opted for their girlfriends getaway package and indulged in a mani/pedi with Sofia and Monica. They were both SO lovely and I'll be sure to request them next time I visit! If you get them, ask about the infamous climbing rabbit ;) Made a quick stop at Adamo before our dinner reservations to get a few bottles for the night. One thing I was a little disappointed by was that despite spending $150 on wine (no prices marked... it adds up quickly!) we we did not receive our tasting flight complimentary. Maybe I'm spoiled by the wineries of Niagara on the Lake but usually this is the case when you purchase wine. Anyways, dinner at Cabin was absolutely delightful and our server Allison was fantastic. Thank you for being so accommodating with our wine choices! We slept so well and then filled up on their delicious buffet breakfast in the morning. While a little on the pricey side, we were worth it!

My wife an I planned to spend her 50th birthday at Hockley. The place was nice and was very picturesque. The food at the cabin was pretty good as well.
The disappointing part was that , in as much as we were at the place the same time as a big corporate event, we felt like were short changed.
Their brochure mentioned that booking the spa was easy as calling their number. But, we were out of luck,.We were told that they not have space as it was reserved for the big group. We even mentioned that that we are celebrating a milestone but sadly we were given the thumbs down.
The place was not that big and not a lot of things to do at night. We were going to babboo, their bar, and it was closed for the nig corporate event.
My advise would, be, if you are going to this place, ensure that it is not the same time as a party of a big corporation or you will be out of luck.

Very disappointing experience at the golf course this past weekend. We had a very rude marshall demand to inspect our bags and golf cart for beer. It ruined our day. Apparently harassing paying customers is part of the customer service experience. I get the impression that the resort has forgotten that without customers, there is no resort. I don't think I'll be playing there anymore.
