We visited twice this August and would go again tomorrow if we could. The walk up the Gorge is spectacular and the pools along the way are just amazing. The path rises gently through the rocky gorge and all the way the water creates streams and pools for paddling, swimming and diving. Both of our visits were on hot days,... More

Family visited here in August on a very hot day. We slowly walked up the gorge along the paved footpath the full 5km to the cafe at the top for a well deserved drink and snack. It was a great walk but was hard work in the heat.(small children would struggle with distance) Stunning scenery and can stop on route... More

We (two adults and two teenagers) walked the Gorges d'Heric trek in the afternoon (arrived there about 3pm). There was limited parking in the carpark but we did get a space. The walk itself is not too difficult but it can get hot in non-shaded areas. There are plenty of diving pools along the way and some spots where you... More

Really impressed with this place. Very well maintained paths, great wide access for push chairs. A glorious day for the family

We walked the complete length of this well maintain footpath in early November on a beautiful sunny autumn day. The walkway meanders its way alongside the river with various viewing/photo points, seating areas and pools to swim in (on warm summer days). Apart from the last few hundred metres, very accessible too. Would love to return to do the walk... More

We wanted to visit one of the gorges of France and luckily our hosts recommend Gorges d'Heric. It was about a two hour hike, up the gorge (one hour return) on an old rail bed that had been subsequently converted to a road serving the tiny village of Heric, which is located at the top of the gorge. The gorge... More

Visited here twice during our stay in Langue Doc. Get there early on in the morning if you want to get a good spot, also it is better walking when it isn't as hot! Great views and lovely place Shaded in the afternoon

Enjoyable gentle walk up to the top. There are natural pools of various sizes around as you walk which you can have a refreshing swim in. Was expecting different something at the top like some kinda scenery or swimming, but it was a nice enough café to get a drink and sandwich in.

We read about this in the book at our rented villa. We had my Mum with us and as it was so hot, some of us made a base camp near the bottom of the river. Not much water but lovely cool pools. The others walked all the way to the top only to find that the promised waterfall had... More
