The cave is unique due to its geothermal origin and its visit is slightly different from other cave systems you can visit in the Czech Republic. Firstly, the lower levels are filled with carbon dioxide which is toxic in high concentrations, therefore you can see "contaminated with gas" signs from time to time during the tour (don't be afraid though, the levels are strictly monitored on the visitor path). Secondly, the presence of aragonite forms makes it very unique - there are only 4 aragonite caves open to public in the world.
The tour guide himself was knowledgeable and willing to answer any question. I definitely recommend this place!

This was an amazing experience, you can't imagine how beautiful this is, photos don't do it justice. Only downside, the tour is in czech only, the give you a flier with some details about each area.

This cave is situated in a nice environment surrounded by spa. We have been a bigger group. We enjoyed the guidance which was very professional but friendly and funny, so the children could keep the interest on the guidance and the places shown in the cave. There is a small souvenir shop at the entrance. It is a pity, that only at the entrance point, as this is situated above the exit point, so if you want to get some souvenirs, it is better to buy it at the beginning of the tour as otherwise you have to go up the hill once again. There are also some seats at the entry point, but no restaurant or buffet close to this place, you have to go couple of meters or to move rather to the close Hranice town.

The Zbrašov Aragonite Caves are the only caves of hydrothermal arigin in the Czech Republic. They were created by deep spring of warm mineral water, which also created unique mineral decoration - raft (geyser) stalagmites, crystals of aragonite and the "doughuts" coats on the walls. The lower levels of the cave are filled with gas "lakes" of carbon dioxide.
