When my husband and I are spending time on the Island we have always used BeachBums for bike and kayak rentals. Their equipment is in good shape , location is right on the main drag and the customer service we have received each and every time is top notch. We had planned on kayaking one day with another couple and had made arrangements through the front desk, but a few minutes later got a call back from the kayak guy saying he wouldn’t recommend heading out as the water was rather choppy and conditions were not ideal. He suggested we go the next day instead, which we did and it was great! We had some fairly new kayakers joining us so this was really good for us to know and change plans. I mean, who turns away business? Safety first, I like that. They also gave us a discount as we were here for a few weeks and renting both bikes ( which they dropped off right at our rental place) and kayaks. Use their services, they have it figured out.

Only place in AMI to get a tandem.
We had a great experience working with Maddie and finding one of the only places on AMI that rent tandem bicycles. They provide helmets, lock, horn and even a headlight and taillight. A few online forms to sign and initial and your card is charged the day of the rental. The delivery and pickup of your rental equipment is hassle free. I would definitely recommend.

Rent from Beach Bums
We researched many golf cart rental places and are SO happy we chose Beach Bums. Their service was friendly and top-notch from the first conversation through to the entire experience - even how to return the carts when no one was there as we had an early flight home. Everyone is helpful and feels like your friend when you speak with them and their gift shop is so adorable. Better than others on the island! The golf carts were easy and worked well. Definitely rent from Beach Bums.

Cruising Around Anna Maria Island
We made a lat minute decision to rent a golf cart. The ladies that helped us were amazing. Chris who showed us the golf cart was awesome and gave us lots of tips about the island. Had a great time cruising the island on their golf cart. Made it so much easier to see the entire island. Would recommend this place and will definitely rent from them again in the future

Bike and kayak rental

Beach Bums delivered bikes as promised. The bikes were in good shape and it was a good price. On the phone service was excellent. At the shop, the service at the desk was below average. They lacked information and appeared to be bothered to extend help. We tried to rent kayaks and the trip was cancelled due to weather, which was understandable. The follow up on communication necessary for rescheduling failed to be provided.

Exceptional customer service!

I called Beach Bums to ask them for a favor relating to a Polaris GEM electric car and Lauren, the owner, went above and beyond my expectations!
I needed to see if the 6 seater would fit in my garage and Lauren immediately came through for me.
She made a quick call and confirmed that the 6 seater was available and sent one of her employees right away to my house.
He was super friendly and helpful, he drove it in and helped me take measurements.
She didn’t charge me one cent, she was the epitome of how you’d expect and want your neighbor to behave.
I was truly amazed and grateful for her generosity and help.
Even though Beach Bums is not the closest rental place to my home I will definitely reach out to them first and recommend them to anyone who asks for advice.

This is the company to go with for bicycle rentals!

Rented 5 bicycles from Beach Bums. Spoke with Dirk on the phone before arriving to make our arrangements to have bikes delivered and picked up, which was a breeze. The bicycles were waiting for us in the driveway when we arrived. Their website claims that "all returned bicycles are serviced by their repair team", and I have absolutely no problem believing that. Bikes were all in tip top condition and came with locks, lights, a basket, and even a squeaker parrot on the handlebars to warn others of your approach as you rode. Bicycles are a MUST when staying on AMI. We were able to get everywhere we needed to go with our bikes or the free trolley. Dirk and co were so pleasant to work with and the bikes were in perfect condition. This company also offered the best prices I could find on the island. Great experience all around!

A top knotch professional rental company. We rented 6 beach cruisers ( 3 male, 3 female) and 3 beach umbrellas. The equipment was clean, reliable and in good working order. It was all waiting for us at our rental the day we arrived. Just a great experience to be able to bike around on the island! And the beach umbrellas were ingenious! Order early because they book up quick!

Amazing experience! Genuinely nice!

Wow! Talk about amazing customer service! We rented bikes for the day and then rented beach chairs the next day. Both were so reasonably priced! They told us if we returned them after they were closed that it was not a problem at all. Just lock up the bikes and put the key in the key drop. For the chairs, just put them on the back porch. Super nice staff inside the shop (which also had lots of interesting items to shop for) and outside also. Clean bathrooms were also available. Certainly a highlight of our trip as we loved being able to tootle around the island on the bikes and sit on the beach too!

Unbelievable Service

These people are so friendly & helpful. We have been renting bikes from them for many years. They deliver them to our rental house & pick them up again. Then we just stop by the shop to have them do any adjustments. And, believe me, the service guys are absolutely the best. Friendly, Helpful, Just Can’t Do Enough To Help Us Out. Would HIGHLY recommend.

Great Prices and Service

Had been to Anna Maria Island many times, but this was the first time we rented bikes. We were able to get bikes on the spot, and the gentlemen in the back who gave us a tutorial, covered all the bases. They were very thorough in providing details about the island's bike rules. We didn't need Beach Bums to deliver or pick up the bikes when we were done, but that is definitely an added bonus if you don't have another driver to get you there.

We have rented bikes for many years from Beach Bums. It has always been a fabulous experience. This year one of the bike tires became flat. I emailed the management to report the issue and within an hour, we had a different bike delivered to us. Highly recommend this business. Book well in advance.
