In contrast to other beaches in Luquillo, Monserrate Beach is especially calm, perfect for families with young children, as far as calm water is concerned. It does get crowded on then weekend.

We thought that Hurricane Maria might have decimated Luquillo, but we were pleasantly surprised to find that the beach was as beautiful as ever.

We loved this beach! The water was perfect, no waves, perfect temp, peaceful to just float! You can rent chairs for $5pp. There is a kiosk that makes great drinks and has food, too. No rocks or drop offs in the water. You can also...More

This beach is absolutely beautiful and very clean! I love the snack shack where you can get pina colada in a carved out pineapple for $12...$10 without rum. They give refills with rum for $7. Now this is one of the most expensive drinks in...More

Just curious - Has the public parking lot re-opened? We were there in early February and beach area was beautiful but the entrance was still closed and none of the facilities were open. Thanks for any update.

I love this beach! It has perfect waves, sandy bottom, beautiful aqua blue waters, shade on the beach and coconut trees along the shore. We were surprised little had been done to fix the parking lot since the hurricane. This is usually a very crowded...More

There's enough reviews about this beautiful beach and its warm, calm water, and it is all true. We've been here before and always return to this beach if we want an easy day where we just sit in the warm ocean water and relax. My...More

The most beautiful beach I’ve seen so far. Sadly, not a lot of people likes to camp here. We were the only ones with a tent. The place is safe but it needs more illumination.

Yes but they are usually trying to clean up from the weekend. We got there around 9:30 on a Monday and it was still pretty dirty from the weekend.

Yes to both;however, this is the calmest beach I have ever seen so boogie boards may not get used much. Luquillo beach would be better for boogie boards.
