    Amazing experience, Eugenio Polanco was amazing.
    This is my 3rd time at the La Aurora Cigar Factory and on all three occasions, Eugenio has made me feel welcomed and has provided excellent and exceptional customer service. Eugenio Polanco is the reason why i return to this cigar factory each time i come to Santiago. This is the number 1 place to visit if visiting Santiago. Eugenio Polanco has always provided me with a good experience and i will be looking to return for the 4th time in the near future thanks to Eugenio Polanco. Keep up the good work.

    Hidden gem in the Dominican Republic! Eugenio is the best!
    This truly is worth the trip to Santiago de los Caballeros! Visiting the La Aurora Factory was just an unforgettable experience and an amazing time! Eugenio is a fantastic guide, knows everyone in the factory, teaches us all about cigar production and consumption, truly is a gentleman and makes us feel at home in an environment with more than 300 employees. All staff has already been vaccinated - which is both great and unbelievable - and are very welcoming. The tour is free of charge, the installations are great and their store is fully equipped. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the DR. Everyone should visit! And ask for Eugenio! He's the best!

    La Aurora cigar tour
    On February 20, 2020 we booked a cigar tour through Cigar Country Tours to the La Aurora cigar factory. Eugene Polanco was our guide he did a fantastic job. His wealth of knowledge, passion and enthusiasm made the La Aurora cigar tour the best tour I’ve ever been on. While we were on the tour Eugene offered us a cigar to smoke which really made the tour even more authentic followed by a cup of La Aurora coffee served dominan style. We toured all aspects of the factory from the introduction room videos, seed growth, leave and barrel aging. Followed by more barrel aging of the tabaco and the different types. We learned about every aspect of the cigar production and especially loved our time inside the premium cigar rollers room. Eugene was so knowledge in each and ever aspect of the process of production. We also learned about the founders of La Aurora and it’s rich history in the world of cigars. I’ve been on brewery tours and wine tours and small scale cigar tours but the La Aurora cigar tour was the best!!! Stephen Spagnuola

I visited Aurora in 2013 then again in 2019.

The city of Santiago de los Caballeros itself is amazing and off the beaten track, such beautiful and friendly people and a wonderful culture.

As a cigar aficionado, I learned about Aurora and decided to visit. From the time that I arrived until the time that I left, I was treated with a special and unique level of attention. I saw how the cigars are rolled, I walked the halls to see the history, and of course I sampled the product. I was in cigar heaven!

To those at Aurora: keep up the great work and thank you so much for the memories!

After being received by Eugenio, he gave us a complete tour around the factory providing more than enough information about everything. Great attitude, presentation and anyone is able to see that he’s truly a cigar lover. 10/10. Would recommend anyone to go through that experience.

What a terrific tour.

Eugene is a true asset to La Aurora. He is really engaging and everyone had some laughs.

The Tour was just terrific, fascinating even if you do not smoke Cigars. DO CALL AND RESERVE so you know the tour time.

The Company is generous to provide the tours for free and are clearly and rightly proud to showcase their terrific business.

There is an opportunity to buy at the shop however no 'hard-sell' by anyone. Highly recommended you make this fascinating visit

Best tour of cruise.

On a ten day cruise this was our favorite port tour. The factory does a fascinating and informative tour of their hand rolled and machine made cigars. It is well done. There is freedom to view up close the workers rolling the cigars. Everyone has the opportunity to sample and smoke a cigar during the tour. At the conclusion of the tour a visit to the gift shop without pressure allows for purchase of cigars, local coffee, and gifts. Very nicely done.

Super tour through cigar factory

We arrived without reservation, but Eugen gave us a tour through the factory eventhough it was almost closing time.
The tour was very interesting, we smoked a cigar with him and used the opportunity to buy some cigars in the shop. Eugen was super friendly and sympathetic, he really made an effort!

Absolute MUST in Santiago!!

Eugene was our guide through this incredible and fascinating experience!! His knowledge and levity made it even better! The tour was absolutely amazing from start to finish!! You can take photos through the entire factory. It was great to see the entire process from start to finish, learn about the difference between premium cigars and the lower prices cigars. It's amazing to see that they still do most of the work by hand, using machines many, many years old. If you are in Santiago and you plan to do a tour of a cigar factory, make this a MUST stop!! And, did I mention that the tour is FREE!!

Well worth a visit

Amazing day out at La Aurora cigar factory, was shown around by none other than Eduardo himself who is a direct descendant of the family. The staff went above and beyond on the tour and I went on a journey through the whole process of the tobacco and cigar life. The shop at the end was jaw dropping and had loads to choose from including coffee and rum and hats... Amazing experience 5*.

We took the tour through our cruise. I don't like cigars or smoking in general, my husband enjoys a cigar occasionally. This was a fantastic experience. Mr Eugene was our guide and he was amazing. It was a great tour, we watched and learned how the cigars are hand made and how they blend different types of tobacco leaves to achieve the perfect taste. I highly recommend this tour.

Such a pleasant tour. The tour guide was so friendly and informative. We watched a short video then got a tour around the factory. We obtained information on different types of cigars etc. We tried cigars during the tour and at last got to buy some cigars at the shop. I liked it!
