Worth a vist!
Aug 2021
It is a beautiful clean beach. My family was happy and we did not want to leave. It does get crowded so be sure to get there early to claim a spot. We stayed at the Bonnie Doon Manor which location is right on the beach but the room was not up to par. Regardless, we had a great view of the sunset!

Beaches in So Cal ( southern california) are BEACHES. This place is a strip of sand .
I guess it stacks up for people who've never been outside Canada lol

Wonderful beach to bring the family
Aug 2021
Get there early to secure a nice spot in the beach. People will start arriving past 10am onwards and it gets crowded.
Bring a beach umbrella no more than 6ft. Those that are 8ft, as well as tents, gazebos and mini-tent-shades are not allowed. You will be told by beach security to take it down. Social distancing still in effect there, as you get to set up your stuff with a 6ft distance from others.
Winds come in the afternoons, so expect waves as high as 5 to 8 ft by the end of the day. Pay close attention to the lifeguard flags. If it's green, it's fine. When they change it to yellow, they are on alert as the waves start to come in by the late afternoons.
Overall, its a pretty nice beach, clean washrooms, wide area but parking is a nightmare if you arrive late.

Wonderful Beach
Jul 2021 • Family
Very nice beach. It was crowded and heavy traffic near the beach but we still managed to get parking at the beach. Traffic We went around 4 pm in the evening and it was very nice to see the sunset from the beach. There is a shopping street across both sides of the street.
The water is very clean and nice

Much less crowded than the other beaches - lots of sand and great water. Free parking is limited and so may need to walk farther - recommend unloading at the end of the street near the beach access and then go and park. Be careful not to park in the no parking areas (which are well signed) unless you want a ticket (I believe it is around $120.00). It is worth the walk.

Bend Bus Grand Bend

I am not from the area, so when I seen that there was a tour bus to the beach I thought this was too good to be true. I had such an amazing day trip, the weather was so beautiful and the price of the ride was very cheap. Great for couples, family or even if your going solo! Matthew the Bend Bus Trip Coordinator was so friendly with directions and places to visit. Looking forward to going again this summer and for summers to come! Thank you.

A great summer destination for everyone!
Jul 2021
I hold my childhood beach, Sauble Beach, in very high esteem. It was a perfect summer destination for me and my family and I never thought another beach on Lake Huron could top it. Well, I was surprised by how nice this place was. Firstly, let me say that it's a Blue Flag beach, which means nothing but good things. Clearly, there has been more money put into the general upkeep of this area than there has been at Sauble. The parking situation was as expected (near-gridlock levels during the peak hours), but I've always believed that a busy place is most often a worthwhile place, hence the busyness. I was impressed by the little shopping street approaching the water. The businesses were all in good shape and appear to be doing very good business, there was no shortage of places to get food (sit-down and take-out places a' plenty), and there were numerous other sources of entertainment for the younger crowds (mini-golf, jet ski rentals, axe throwing) as well as nearby attractions for everyone else (The Pinery, Dale's Antiques, etc.). I will be adding this to my list of favourite summer spots in the province for sure. Sauble is still my favourite (largely for nolstalgic reasons) but this could be an overall better place.

Fun Summer Days
Sep 2020
We visited on a sunny warm day in September. The beach is beautiful and Sandy. The water was warm. The playground by the parking area was a hit with our granddaughter.

Lovely!

We have lived in the province for years but never realized this gem existed. It seems to have been improved a couple of years ago. Parking is paid but the entrance to the beach is free.
