Tried unsuccessfully to book a table by telephone but managed to get a booking by e-mail. Had double venison burger which was acceptable. Service was excellent as was the Irn Bru.

We were looking forward to the specially brewed house beer. None of us had a second one! The other beers were no better and the bottled Belgian beers were good but very expensive

Having been to knoydart on numerous occasions, we look forward to a meal in the pub, but we were unable to book as the current owner was closing down for the season. We did have good fun in the pub due to our own entertainment. The toilet area was quite smelly and unclean. No staff except the owner on the... More

We booked an evening meal at this place as a celebration and travelled over on the ferry, staying in Knoydart for 3 nights and carrying food for 2 evening meals. There was a big notice at Mallaig advertising the bar and a website, neither of which prepared us for the news that the owner had closed the place for the... More

This is my third visit to Inverie and each time I have eaten at The Old Forge. Each visit has been some years apart and the last one around 7 years ago. I have good memories of those visits and the seafood. This time was disappointing. The beer was good and there was a guitar player and singer providing very... More

I was here about 8 years ago and remember it as a friendly pub with great food. The barman/owner is now not welcoming and I've had cheaper better food in Weatherspoons. Not the best hostelry on our extended trip of the west of Scotland.

We had a couple of disappointing dinners in The Old Forge. Several dishes were unavailable (e.g. only one of the puddings) and it is not good value. Fine for a drink.

Had longed to visit Inverie for years and was looking forward to a cosy stay in the 'Snug' next to the Old Forge. It is STILL not made clear on the website that the Knoydart Snugs are no longer next to the pub but 3/4 mile away! We had booked bed, breakfast and evening meal and I have difficulty walking...... We ate at The Old Forge for a celebratory meal during our honeymoon. We found the service to be attentive, friendly, and well timed. A lovely starter of Cullen Skink was followed by their wonderful seafood platters; not something we'd usually go for but we weren't disappointed. All the fish and shellfish were lovely, and tasted very fresh. The cheese... More

I did think the prices were high. I just had soup and a roll. The soup was very watery and I didn't think value for money. However I would still recommend a visit as it sold Thatcher's Gold cider (a rarity in Scotland) and great ale (so my friends told me), the location and views were great. We spent approx... More
