Great Little Gallery
Sep 2019
Visited here after Earl's Palace and Birsay Tea Room.

We bought a few pieces of Lesley's art work that we liked. She is very friendly and always willing to speak with people, even if they don't buy anything.

Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Worth calling in

Galleries and art are a very personal thing but if you are on the Birsay to Finstown Road it is worth calling in for a quick look round. Some beautiful artwork by Lesley just wished we had more wall space at home and some it may just appeal to you.

Always a highlight of a trip to Orkney. So glad that John is back to carving his beautiful birds and there's a great range of artwork on display as well. Warm friendly atmosphere, it's like visiting old friends.

The abstract and colourful pieces at Yellowbird are an asset to the artist. Beautiful wee gallery to pop into.

Delightful art...totally Orkney!
Jul 2017
So, I'm not an "artsy" person. But this gallery was recommended to us and we stumbled on it during our tour around Orkney. The art, of local places and birds, really spoke to me! We bought a print to take home, of the ocean and cliffs, which will allow this lovely trip to remain fresh in our minds forever. The prices were SO reasonable and it's nice to support a local artisan. Buy a wee picture of an oystercatcher....you won't regret it!

Only give this two as we visited it twice and it was shut on both occasions. Find out if it is open before you go.Dissapointed as the bird sculptures look great and we travelled a long way.....

My favourite gallery

Every time we visit Orkney we go to the Yellow Bird Gallery and have become friends with Lesley. She and her partner are extremely talented artists and it has been wonderful to see their style and interests develop over the years. That I have lots of prints of their pictures, as well as several original paintings, demonstrates how highly I value their work. Lesley is welcoming and always willing to discuss her work. A lively place to visit.

Wonderful gallery
Aug 2016 • Family
We visited this beautiful gallery in the north east of Mainland Orkney near Birsay. Easy to find, just follow the signs and look out for the brighg yellow flag.
The gallery has beautiful, original pieces of art depicting the many birds and landscapes of Orkney. There are also beautiful wooden ducks and birds that are a delight to touch. We purchased a stunning print for a very reasonable price and our children each chose a small card print too.
We have visited several galleries during our visit to Orkney and this, for me, was by far the best.

The owner gave us time to browse alone before helping us with our purchase and giving us some advice on where we might find an elusive groatie buckie. We found one at the beach. Many thanks Lesley!
