See a penny pick it up

There are a selection of old 1d penny machines and 20p machines to play on. From slot machines to fortune telling machines. Good fun.

This was a very interesting place to visit, especially since my husbands family were in the business for generations and he could remember all the little tricks of how to cheat the machines! Lol! For £1 you could get 10 old pennies so that you can play the machines. It was a novelty, fun to look around.

The Wookey Penny Arcade is brilliant. Took me right back to my childhood and to Morecambe Pier! You use real pennies and experience all the excitement and frustrations that you'd expect. There are so many machines to choose from!

Lovely place nice to see some old machines just wished they worked in stead of just taking the money

There is a lovely selection of old penny arcade machines which can be still used (swapping change for old pennies)

We really enjoyed this activity, despite losing some coins due to machines being broken. It was nice using the proper one armed bandits, and we all got our fortunes told :-)

Exchanging your modern cash for large old pennies and playing the machines is great fun. Some of the machines are freaky - executions and laughing sailors, others require adult help as the one arm bandits are difficult to pull for little arms. We particularly liked the hockey as we got multiple plays with one coin.

I understand the machines are old. But when your charging people money to use the machines, you expect things to work! A lot of machines had hanging signs on them saying "out of order, feeling my age" But there were plenty of machines with NO signs... That took your money and then didn't work!!! Disappointing, as we all ran in... More

All ages enjoyed the old fashioned slot machines - there's something addictive about them. Once again, ideal to occupy some time if the weather isn't good enough for outdoor pursuits.

This is placed within the Wookey Hole attraction grounds and is worth adding into the visit at no extra cost, money can be exchanged for the old coins.
